To open in Manchester in April 2025. Based on the 2001 movie.

If it doesn't open with We Will Rock You, pass.

Could be the new Spamalot. There is a market for comedy musicals based on this sort of stuff

I think this is actually a BRILLIANT film to adapt, bawdy, funny, and sexy - I think it could make for a brilliant show if done well.
I also imagine this will be a jukebox musical? The classic rock songs are a huge part of the DNA of the film and a big reason as to why it works...

Seriously, if they pass on the chance to do 'We Will Rock You' complete with cast members out in the audience and the whole theatre doing the 'stomp-stomp-clap' then someone along the line has lost the plot.

Have just seen the show's Instagram page, a good trailer on there that confirms the show is "full of pop and rock bangers" (their words, not mine!)

I imagine most if not all of the film's soundtrack will be in the show. Can't think of any others that would fit at the moment, a lot of them are probably very expensive to license like Dream On by Aerosmith or Get It On by T-Rex

Never excited about jukebox musicals but at least this one's source material makes sense for it.

Just thought I'd have a look at ticket prices- £135 for top price! Haven't seen the film but was surprised there was a warning on the booking page about the production featuring nudity.

I assume it's not going to that graphic since the original film was fairly tame, probably you see someone's naked bum at best.

I saw the film back when it first came on TV. Vaguely remember one of them being shown walking down a road naked. Only from behind, it’s only a PG. Turns out it was Paul Bettany, clip’s on YouTube. And looking at the clip it had a much better cast than it deserved.
Can’t help wondering how they’re going to do a jousting tournament on stage without it looking a bit ropey.

Absolutely love the film, but i’ll have to wait to see if the cast can entice me to see it since Manchester is quite a trek for me.
