I managed to get 2 front row centre tickets for a Friday night. There was good availability. Really looking forward to this! Great that Blue Light Card holders/key workers are included as well as the young ‘uns! 😁

Loads of availability but I couldn’t get the date I wanted because the website refused to sell me a single seat!

I don’t know how strictly it is enforced, but I notice it says “Both ticket holders must fit one of The Jamie Lloyd Company booking criteria”, whereas in the past I believe only the lead booker needed to be eligible for Jamie Lloyd events.

I don’t know how strictly it is enforced, but I notice it says “Both ticket holders must fit one of The Jamie Lloyd Company booking criteria”, whereas in the past I believe only the lead booker needed to be eligible for Jamie Lloyd events. Ah I just noticed that. Who knows? Sometimes they check, sometimes they don't in my experience. It seems completely random. Both my sister (under 30) and I (blue light card) got ID'd for Romeo and Juliet, but I remember some people here didn't. |

For the Pinter season it was only one person who needed to be a key worker, if I'm not mistaken. I went to all plays with different friends being only me the one who qualified. I actually was surprised when they asked both people to qualify. Luckily the friend I'm going with is a teacher so all good. |

I have no intention of seeing The Tempest but just had an e mail about it so thought I'd see what sales were like. Boy has this sold badly. Practically every performance shows good availability with more empty seats than sold seats from the dates I checked. And stalls and dress circle are eye wateringly expensive.

I bought on release day as I wanted to make sure I got the date I was in London for my birthday trip, but seems I could definitely have waited for some good inevitable Rush tix! Drury Lane is a cavern.

I wonder why they didn't think about reducing the seating by converting the auditorium into the "in the round" configuration
Mind you that may have meant the tickets costing even more!
Personally I think opening a "Shakespeare" around Christmas is a bit of a gamble - even with Sigourney Weaver

I think one of the issues is that while Sigourney is an incredibly talented and well respected actress, she doesn’t have the kind of fan base that are going to snap the tickets up straight away like Hiddleston does, or Tom Holland did earlier this year. I don’t doubt it’ll pick up but I think it’ll be led by on the day sales.
For me, personally, I’m far more excited about her than I am about Hiddleston — she’s iconic to me from seeing Galaxy Quest and Holes as a child!

Largely (I believe) because although the in-the-round stage has been incorporated in the plans, the structure has not been built yet, nor (more importantly) included in the cost of the refurb - and will be VERY expensive. I wouldn't hold your breath for seeing the TRDL alternative configuration anytime soon! |
