Yes, I loved the show in Sheffield - definately 5 stars from me. However, I have not seen it in London yet and judging by some of the comments from posters on here I gathered it had "gone off" a bit. Sound issues etc. I am looking forward to seeing it again if I can nab one of those cheaper side stalls seats.

Saw it last night. If anyone posting on here claims to "know about musicals" and hasn't seen this, then they lack credibility, IMHO. This is a masterclass in musical theatre history, and while you can see the flaws you'd expect with any prototype of anything - it's pretty glorious. Oh, and having now seen the whole show, I can confirm that you MUST sit downstairs and that they are practically giving away the front row and side seats for the money. Completely agree re the value of those front row/side seats! Looking forward to my next visit

Ouch. At this rate the show still wont be running in June. If it closes erly I will find it hard to be able to rebook especially as there aint huge numbers of middle price seats

No show will close after 2 months, it's booking until January!

Lend Me A Tenor also closed after just over 2 months - despite my best efforts to keep it going by seeing it 11 times!

I loved that show. Only saw it once. I booked in advance but it turned out to be two days before it closed. They were silly though. They weren't sold out on the final night and still wanted full price for the tickets.

London theatre scene is changing, new shows just can't stay open New shows?! Show Boat is about as old as they get! Dull shows that don't actually do anything are the problem, not the scene. Book of Mormon, In The Heights, and Matilda show their is a massive market for new musical theatre as long as you are willing to change it up a bit and actually do something.

Of all shows to transfer from Sheffield im surprised they opted for this one. It's just not a commercial classic

Of all shows to transfer from Sheffield im surprised they opted for this one. It's just not a commercial classic I think it's a generational thing. When I told my mum I was seeing it at the Crucible she instantly recalled the film, story, several songs and the main actors. But anyone under 40? Doubt it. I don't think the artwork they're using does it any favours. I imagine people saying, "so it's about a boat?" when it's far from that.

Thats a bit like saying that if you like music you can name all of the classic artists from the 50s.
