Ohhh how exciting. Any idea on if its the original production?
The orignal set was huge and would need a large stage to accommodate it.

No, it's a full scale production in a proper sized house.

Surely this goes into the Bridge? They’ve previously transferred shows into The Shed, so it’d make sense to have the reverse happen.

I’ve heard the Young Vic.. wherever it is, I’d just be glad for us to get this.

Surely Tracie Bennett would transfer too?

Now I love Sondheim more than most but listing to the cast recording I really didn't get it. That's not to say I won't go and maybe it will make sense in context.

It's at the NT. Perhaps for the Dorfman reopening.

I saw it in NYC (first preview and l.o.v.e.d it) but even I have very little interest in the cast recording. It's very much about the acting and the experience. So please don't let it put you off.
I'd recommend watching the two movies it's inspired by beforehand but I went with people who didn't and they loved it equally.

Dorfman is closed until the 'middle' of next year, so a good while away then?

Sounds like an NT show... definitely would be an absolute seller in person and if there's a National Theatre Live cinema show all in one package set up for NTatHome, it's a no brainer!

Having seen this in New York, I think the National is a good home for it over here. It isn't a regular tourist/crowd puller, so will sit better outside the commercial theatres and I'm glad it might get filmed for posterity because I don't expect it's show that's likely to be staged very often.
I also agree with tytyty above. I also enjoyed the show very much in person (certainly Act 1. Act 2 - the music-less/Sondheim-less half - not so much) but the experience doesn't really translate to the cast recording so I wouldn't judge it by this alone.

This is actually going to the Lyttleton next year. Full NYC Shed production with possibly some of the NYC cast doing London too.

Seems like an absolutely huge space for this show. I’m not doubting you in any way just saying it doesn’t seem a natural fit for it.
