Craig doesn't have any Saturday panto performances until 28 December 2024, so we can probably assume this year's final is on 21 December. Anybody want to work backwards? That's always been the case, must be knackering for Craig to do panto and Strictly but I guess panto pays very well.

21st Dec seems a bit too close to Christmas. I’d go the week before.

You know looking at the cast photograph (not that I'm really into pastels, but) I think the pastel colours on the outfits really works makes a refreshing change from the 'full on' glitter.

Vicky Gill seems to have been inspired by the colour palette of the Queen Mother in the seventies and eighties. Break out the Gin and Dubonnet!

That ties in nicely then with panto-responsibilities for Shirley and Craig, and for anyone else appearing. Although it must be exhausting juggling rehearsals for panto and Strictly.

Still no complete list of couples.
3 of last year's pros don't get a partner

Double take on seeing the new publicity shots of the judges. God, Rylan's put on weight, and what does he know about ballroom dancing? 🤪

Well that launch show was even more excruciating than usual. Mojo for the win!

I think Shane Ward will be quite a good mover. Sarah Hadland is going to be great entertainment value.

Didn’t appreciate Sarah being stuck at the back for the group dance, in fact it was appallingly filmed in general. They seemed more interested in highlighting Shane Ward at every turn. Generally good group though, without any obvious sob stories.
Edit: Search Strictly on ‘X’ and there’s a litany of people slating Ward for any number of reasons; his main crime appears to be his hair ‘choices’. His shimmying and sharp committed moves don’t really deserve such hatred tbh.

I am a massive Pete Wicks fan, he’s funny and a great tv personality, so he’s automatically my favourite for this year, but judging by the dance at the end I think he’s actually got potential!

They brought out the grannies, parents, kids and partners tales already. There will be nothing left to talk about by week 3

Someone on the Guardian comments shifted the emphasis a little to rename him Pee Twix! Can't think of him any other way now! 😂

Favourite bit of last night was the group dance to "Dance yourself dizzy" by Liquid Gold. Not heard that song for years and immediately added it to my playlist.

I’m looking forward to seeing Shayne Ward hopefully going the distance. Paul Merson will leave early. Will miss seeing Kai with a partner this year but lovely to see Neil with one.

I think the Doctor will be another early out. She didn't show any rhythm.

I rather enjoyed it.
The judges could have been given the night off.
Nice in memoriam at the end.
Has Ellie Leach done anything since winning? She needs to get a new agent.
