A great last show for Peter Pan Goes Wrong tonight, including possibly the strangest ever audience shout-out in the poisoning scene involving Richard Branson taking over the NHS! I do hope the show gets another revival next Christmas, or at least some other Christmas in the future. I'd hate never to see my favourite revolve again! ETA: cute overheard comment tonight. In the poisoning scene Harry passed the 2nd bottle to a young boy in the 2nd row who I was sitting in front of. In the blackout after Tinkerbell's electrocution a few minutes later I heard a small voice say "Did I do that?". After his brother replied in the affirmative he then said: "Dammit"! Front row, which is my usual spot for this show.

Those 2 kids were so cute, could just hear them in the middle of the blackout asking if they killed Tinkerbell.

^Ah, so that must be the mysterious secret project they keep tweeting about that was due to be announced yesterday. I thought it was likely to be something for TV & sure enough it evidently is.
ETA Can't see anything on the BBC's tickets webpage so I wonder if there will be a ballot for this one or if it'll be closed to the public?

Splendid, glad to hear it's coming back! Look forward to more dates being announced (I do wonder if Cambridge Arts were not meant to put these on sale yet..)

I did wonder that, given a quick look at the websites of a few other possible venues had no sign of it listed on there (infuriatingly it's coming to Cambridge while I'm on holiday so I'll have to see it elsewhere). However the Arts Theatre then tweeted about it the next day & the tweet's still there so if they have jumped the gun a bit then evidently it's being allowed to stand.

Is Nativity Goes Wrong ever going to get another airing? I have a vague memory of asking one of the writers, can't remember which, about it once & was told that they were hoping to re-work it into a 2 act pla at some point. However, given that was a couple of years ago, whether or not it's still on their to do list I don't know. They're probably more than busy enough with the TV series & Groan Ups at the moment.

This is on at the Salford Lowry 3rd - 7th December. Currently on sale to members only. I wanted to book for PPGW but just had a look at the diary and I’m in London that weekend. Fuming! Oh well, at least I got to see it in London on its last outing.

So over Christmas we might have The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Magic Goes Wrong and The Comedy About A Bank Robbery all running in London?!

They are making a right hash of revealing this on Twitter, although I'm never sure with Mischief whether that's deliberate?!

I can't decide that either. It was certainly a terribly-kept secret, given most if not all of the 2019 tour venues have already had tickets on sale for weeks.

Any tips on seating at the Alexandra? Never been there and the prices seem fairly reasonable but don't want to be stung!

Details: www.theatremonkey.com/FAQS.htm#APLBasically, outside the first couple of rows, your view will be horrible in the flat section. Go for front rows, raised stalls or circle or even circle slips as they are close to the stage and cheaper. As the front 2 rows aren't on sale that's awkward. Not sure whether to book row B in the hope the front 2 rows are being removed or to hang on & see if the front 2 rows appear...

Reviving an old thread.. currently at PPGW at Alexandra Palace, 15 minutes after the show should have started (2.45) we were told that someone has been taken ill and an understudy is having to come in "from another show" and they are due to start at 3.15pm.
It'll be interesting to see who turns up and in what role!

Matt Cavendish was there the other day as an emergency cover for the role of Max.

I spotted Fred Gray legging it across the East Court a few minutes ago so I guess that answers who today's emergency cover is! Though not the role. I've already seen him cover Max 2 weeks ago but he did cover several roles when he was in the show so could be a different one today. ETA Fred is playing Max. Tom Babbage, who should have been playing Max, has switched to play Chris. I've now seen him 2nd cover both Jonathan & Chris but have yet to actually manage to see him as Max!

And we also had a planned Jonathan understudy.
Sorry, didn't see your message saying you were there until we were leaving, else I'd have nipped down to say hello.
The show overall felt somewhat flat, whether this is due to the cast, the 45 minute delay, the three understudies as a mixture with the regular cast or the venue being so long I am not sure. Still a good performance, because of the quality of the production, however this won't go down as a highlight for me with PPGW.

I enjoyed it but a) I was in the front row & b) I enjoy seeing understudies! I only wish I could have seen this evening's performance too, as Chris Leask was going to be playing Trevor!
