Having seen the Play that goes wrong I knew what to expect and certainly got it! A good rollicking laugh, brilliant for lifting the spirits. You do I think enjoy it more if you are a regular theatre goer.
looked for thread on this so forgive repetition. It might have been left behind as it were.

This was a great night out. Very funny and refreshingly old fashioned in many ways. I am seeing The Play That Goes Wrong (so the wrong way round) soon. As always some gags worked better than others, but I don't want to give too much away.
Ps any chance of moving this thread to the plays section? Another challenge for our brilliant and dedicated admin volunteers (flattery might get me somewhere).

Was at the final performance last night - definitely plenty of people who had seen the show before (no surprise there!).
I do wonder if this will try to come back next winter with a different cast, I suspect there'd be the appetite for it. Especially if it gets another Olivier nod.

I was at the final performance too - again - think I enjoyed it even more second viewing. An absolute riot in the front row! Such a brilliant cast, great comic timing. So, so funny. My kid was the one Hook picked on for laughing so hard, "why can't you be like this man, 2 hours and hasn't laughed once".
Daniel, that wasn't you opening the bottle with your teeth, was it? If so we need to talk wardrobe. And how funny the young girl in the front row being the one to poison Peter Pan.
Joyous bit of entertainment. I will admit to offering a rubber squeaky hammer as people were seated at the beginning, which completely threw the "stagehand". Quick recovery "Has anyone lost a hammer"?

Ha, nah - I was sat near the back of the stalls. Oddly enough though the "use your teeth" line from the audience turned up the last time I saw it as well! And I did wonder whether the squeaky hammer pre-show was someone in the audience being clever!

I was on the front row on Jan 15 openning the bottle with my teeth and being (proudly) the one responsible for poisoning Peter Pan 'cause I was rooting for Crocodile anyway! Fantastic show indeed! Sad to see it gone...

I have never rooted so much for the Crocodile before in my LIFE. And not because I wanted him to eat Captain Hook either.

Quick recovery "Has anyone lost a hammer"? Oh, I was sitting 2 seats to your left then. I knew anyone proffering a rubber hammer had to have seen it before! The possibility of turning up with a hammer had occurred to me but I thought that having a hammer in one's bag might not go down well with the bag searches & I don't own a rubber one. Where do you even get a rubber hammer?!

Where do you even get a rubber hammer?! Amazon. Dog toys. My dog is loving it. Less so the neighbours. Did we have the lady with the white gloves and camera between us? *too late but waves* I first saw this early on in the run, so they've obviously added bits, as the teeth bit and poison Peter Pan were not there on my first night.

I'm sure the poison Peter Pan bit must have been there when you first saw it (however perhaps with no audience interaction so it passed cleaner), as it has persisted since the tour virtually untouched. Whoever is playing Chris can sometimes ramp it up a bit - that definitely seems to be the "go enjoy it" moment for him.

That was me (oh the joys of seeing ourselves as others see us!). I've evidently made the mistake of assuming you were the male half of the couple with the hammer rather than the female half.

Ahaha! Sat next to each other and didn't know ... the male one was my lad, he's been dragged to many, many shows, but bounced about like a small child with this one.
Next time I'll know you!

I was at the matinee last Saturday, front row centre. I don't think I've ever been as close to a stage before! That's tight! I was on my own, covered in glitter and water by the end, but had a great time.

Hoorah! Seriously I absolutely LOVE these guys. My buttocks are clenched in anticipation for 'The Comedy About A Bank Robbery' too. I want them to take over the whole of London's glitzy West End. They're the best thing to happen to it in years!

It'll have to be a new cast too - so even more of a reason to be interested! Hopefully that means they'll have three shows on over this winter season.
And, incase it didn't get picked up on here, Peter Pan Goes Wrong was nominated for Best New Comedy at the Oliviers. Considering the competition, I'd be surprised if they didn't win it.
Bravo!

Unless TCAABR flops & all the cast are free by October! Not that I think that will happen. I imagine it is much more likely that some of the tour cast, half of whom are currently in TPTGW, might reprise their roles. I wonder if they brought forward the announcement to take advantage of the Oliviers publicity? It would certainly make sense that instead of people going "What a pity we missed it" they can go & book for the next revival.

Aren't the originals taking The Play That Goes Wrong to Broadway next year as well?

They're still amazingly nice and normal, too. If you email their website it's some of the cast who reply, and after Peter Pan some of the ordinal cast were outside flyering for TCAABR.

Aren't the originals taking The Play That Goes Wrong to Broadway next year as well? Yes they are. The idea is to get Bank Comedy Robbery through to 2017 with the original cast then recast and take the original team out to Broadway to revive Play. They were offered to go out this fall, however declined as they wouldn't be able to run in BCR for long before needing to depart it.

George, great news, thanks for sharing!
Does anyone of you guys know if the original Mischief gang will be returning with PPGW in October or it will be different cast?
