I've changed my ticket to Thursday. A bit hacked off that Thursday tickets are £2.75 cheaper than Friday but the box office didn't make any mention of the difference let alone offer to refund it. Jon Robyns had better not be off sick tomorrow evening now!

Jon Robyns had better not be off sick tomorrow evening now! They usually charge fee for changing the tickets, so maybe this is where the money went! (When I changed mine I was supposed to pay this changing fee as well but my new ticket was more expensive than the old one so they decided not to charge me) Oh Jon, see how people are struggling because of you!

Didn't get round to saying anything about this last night so slightly belatedly: I enjoyed this more than I expected to. I don't think I'm exactly the target audience & when the show opened with loud music & flashing lights it didn't look promising, however fortunately there were only 3 songs that I found uncomfortably loud. This was quite possibly the campest show I have ever seen onstage - and I'm not just talking about Samuel Holmes! (This is the 5th show I've seen him in & he's played camp period characters in all of them!) The costumes were quite something at times, though Jon Robyns & Cassandra Compton managed to get through it without having to wear anything too awful, unlike most of the ensemble.
I'm glad I was able to swap m ticket to a performance when Jon Robyns was on as I thought he was very good. Likewise Cassandra Compton, who I don't think I've seen in anything before. I was also impressed by Roxanne Pallett: I tend to have low expectations of anyone who's an ex-soap star but she had a good voice. I knew Ray Quinn could sing, having randomly seen him in Grease years ago when I needed a show to see at the last minute, and he did a good line in slimeball. I found Ruth Madoc was okay at first but outstayed her welcome in Act 2. The small ensemble did well in a myriad of parts & costume changes.
Having never seen either the show or the film before, I was surprised that a song in Act 2 "If I Told You" sounded familiar. However when I read the programme today I discovered that the film was released in 1997 and not, as I had assumed, in 1985, so I would have been old enough to have presumably heard it on a trailer or suchlike.

Going to see the show at 5pm. Hopefully this is better than Wonderland.

The rest of the songs (and "If I told you") were written for the Broadway show (I believe).

After years of wanting to see a professional production of this, I finally have. It was a fun show with a good cast, nice set and decent costumes. I'm not very good at reviews but I will give a few opinions on some of the performers.
Jon Robyns - Amazing. Very talented. Nothing negative to say.
Cassie Compton - A plank of wood that only comes to life when singing. Terrible acting and no real attempt at an American accent. Good singing voice.
Roxanne Pallett - Fine. Decent accent, acting was fine, singing was fine, although I think the ensemble helped her sing the end of 'Right in front of your eyes.' Her wig throughout the show looked terrible - like a cheap wig you get for a hen party.
Ray Quinn - After seeing Ray in X Factor, anything this man did made me feel ill. However my opinion has changed. Ray does deserve credit as he is quite a good performer, and along with Jon was one of the strongest in the cast, with one of the best American accents.
Ruth Madoc - after seeing Ruth in this and the tour of Annie I have come to the conclusion that the only role this woman can play is Ruth Madoc.
Tara Verloop - Very impressive for such a small part. In my opinion, the strongest female performer in the cast.
Samuel Holmes - I didn't get him at all. Didn't really make much use of any possible humour within the role.
Overall - glad I have seen the show but do not need to see it again.
(And yes, it was better than Wonderland, in my own opinion of course.)

Saw this last night and was left somewhat underwhelmed. I thought the first tour with Jonathan Wilkes was a much better production.
Jon Robyns, Ray Quinn and Ruth Madoc were the stand out performances. Cassie Compton sounded hoarse and her accent slipped on a number of occasions.
My biggest gripe was the noise of the set being changed. I have never seen a show where there has been that much clattering and banging. The show also had to be stopped just before 'Casualty Of Love' because the motel bed from the previous scene was stuck and would not budge.

Have I missed this at Woking or Wimbledon or did it not go to either?

I can't believe I still live in a world where little Ray Quinn from 'Brookside' is still getting work.

She left her panto she was doing at Christmas early as well, but that was definitely not under any medical advice

Out of interest, is this the kind of show where the audience are expected to get up and dance at the curtain call? Need to know if I should purposefully book a seat in a dim and distant corner or if I'm safe enough to go reasonably central.

Not when I went (thankfully, as I was mid stalls) and I don't think there's a 'megamix' at the end either?(someone correct me if I somehow missed that)

Wow this has sold badly in Manchester. Just went to look for tickets for tomorrow night and there's probably about 50-60 sold on stalls and gallery and even less in the circle. The other nights aren't much better either.

Hi, do you know if there are any offers/ on this show for this weekend in Manchester. Thank you in advance. Not aware of any at all despite very poor sales. Was there last night. Not even a quarter full. Very quiet. Clearly affected the performances

I saw it again in Nottingham last week and i had a few understudies on and just thought the quality wasn't as good as when i saw it in Leicester. I still enjoyed it though.
