Given the huge success of Cruise I’m surprised there’s been no mention of this on here so far (that I can find anyway). It does seem to have been lost in the season announcement for Sheffield Theatres a little bit.
What do we all think about it? I’m excited to see what the team can produce and if the format will remain the same as Cruise or change?

Looks like the entire run sold out in Sheffield. Any board members get to see it? Surely a transfer is in order?

I saw this a few years ago (pre pandemic) in a grand workshop version at Shoreditch Town Hall. It was really strong. It was big and the sound design was stellar. Back then it had quite a large cast - looks like it's a solo show now? If so, I can see the spectacle of scale exchanging for the spectacle of an actor turning on a penny between characters - audiences love to see that tour de force and an actor's sweat.

Having a read of the press reviews and this one is definitely getting a lot of love from the critics. Hopefully a small tour will be announced if not a transfer at some point.

Yes correct it's now been scaled down to a solo show - the same as Jack Holden did with Cruise.

Is this a play, a musical or a dreaded "play with music"?

Is this a play, a musical or a dreaded "play with music"? I haven't seen this version, but based on the workshop it's neither. It was scripted acting bathed in a sonic score of filmic music & heavily treated & processed sounds from ordinarily life - heightened in the way they might be in a moody true crime podcast.

Sounds really interesting I think, and seems to have had some pretty good reviews.
WhatsOnStage and Telegraph gave it 5 stars. Guardian and Observer in which order I am not sure but 3/4 stars Reviews Hub 4 stars
Definitely going to book.
