Regarding 'You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth' - it may well be that it's still there in Act II but I just can't remember properly. Act II is basically just one song leading into another, there's hardly any dialogue, so i'm having trouble discerning which songs were in there. Was it one of the duets that Falco and Sloane sing? [ It's sung by The Lost as they're celebrating the fact that (shock! horror!) Strat isn't dead. Begins with Strat and Raven doing the spoken "On a hot summer night ..." exchange and ends in an a Capella fade out with the cast leaving the stage. |

They must have spent a king's ransom on this but inadvertently forgot about the story. Then later thinking don't worry the songs & the staging will carry it through ( so wrong ).
Out of interest were those bats on a laser guidance system or inconspicuous rigging? Too far away to see but my ears will be happy (lots of speakers)

Still on a rigging, but I think they've improved it - it wasn't easy to see even from the circle slips directly underneath it. |

Am seeing this on Saturday at the matinee and was wondering on the running time as I saw it was 3 hours and was wondering if this was correct. Seeing 42nd st on the night.

Programme was annoyingly a tenner with no song list, but here's a tip: if they (as they were yesterday) handing out surveys to fill in at the interval, do. You can exchange it for a free poster at the box office at the end of the show - the type they put on tube station escalators. Beats the £15 print they were offering. Is it now on your bedroom wall? |

THIS IS SO FREAKING RIDICULOUS.
I loved it so much, but had no idea what was going on and was physically repulsed by how ugly the choreography is.... but my god it's a good night out.

I loved it so much, but had no idea what was going on Ah, you have to read the newspaper on your seat first and then watch the video they play - several times - on the front curtain before it starts. Doing that explains the entire show, LOL. Well, the storyline bit, anyway. The rest I'm not sure even they could fully tell you... Whaaaat? We didn't get either of those things in Manchester! |

Understudy (not alternate) Strat on today...Reuben someone (haven't got a programme) and he's doing a bloody good job of it. Wonder who they'll roll out for WEL if they've three to choose from.
The set looks gorgeous in here and the new costumes ad something too. Just brilliant!

It was on all of the screens while we were walking in, before any of the bike polishing or bonkers speech...same in Manchester. I must admit that the newspaper made it all make a lot more sense, and subsequently even more enjoyable. (Likewise being 8 rows back dead centre!) There were £31 stalls seats available for last night too. The chap on tkts said it was so that the cast don't have a row of empty seats in their eyeline. Who's gonna pay £200 for a Weds matinee ffs!!!It was pretty full though. |

BTW, no day seats and for the record, those thinking of trying to walk up at weekends should also think again, apparently. Not really my cup of tea, but I suppose with Meat's continuing bad back, this is the next best thing!! Anyway, I'm pleased for the Coliseum, and if people like this, we must hope it leads them to other things they wouldn't normally consider (as long as they behave). |

I think the fact that Meat Loaf can't actually sing anymore (have you heard his last album?) is more relevant than his bad back, but I wouldn't say the musical is "the next best thing". The songs belong to Steinman, and don't only exist in relation to Meat Loaf. The cast perform them as well as they have ever been performed. |
