I took my mother to see it while she was visiting this week (age 74, couldn't name a single Meat Loaf song - "Why is it called Bat Out of Hell? Is it about hell? I'm not sure I'll like that!") and to my surprise she really enjoyed it and said she would go again! She said she preferred it to "Allelujah!" and "The King and I" (which we also saw this week, and which she picked!). She's a pretty harsh critic too! haha someone I know said this week 'are there bats in it? demand a refund if there aren't bats' Which, fair. Advertising standards and all. |

Depends on how far you'd have to go out of your way to catch the tour.
Personally I think Jordan is weaker - he does everything "well" but he lacks that crazy energy that makes Andrew so outstanding, he's more "musical theatre performer performing a part" and less "young rock god going all-out on stage" So if you can catch Andrew on tour in the US without breaking the bank, I'd do that.
However, to be fair to Jordan, when I saw him, the audience (that had no one to compare him to) responded very enthusiastically, too, so you will probably be okay. And he might yet grow into the part when he starts playing Strat daily.

Is Luke a good Strat or it it worth seeing Andrew on the Tour instead? Jordan is great Strat! I love both of them. Yes Andrew is really a rockstar and his energy and passion are outstanding and he's that "Strat from the posters" but Jordan is equally amazing! Actually I can't decide who I prefer. |

Almost broke the bank but I've time to recoup. Opening night Boston in the pit. Boston is only a little over an hour from me so easy drive.
I think I'm pretty safe that Andrew will play on opening night in a city.
Better get it on my calendar as I don't usually remember things 8 months later.................
I've told my children that when I die if there is no inheritance left for them to blame this group. But to remember I had a hell of a good time......

I watched Sat matinee of BOOH.
Front circle was very sparsely populated - back circle a bit more so.
The show is one of the most visually spectacular I've ever seen. Jaw would drop every time a new panel would open and I'll never forget the car...the motorbike....wow.
The music was pumping and the voices were on song. I believe we had an understudy Falco; it didn't bother me.
But man, I hated this show.
The paper-thin story just didn't hold up with the lyrics in so many of the songs and none of the character arcs made sense; I couldn't gel with any of them. I found Strat's gurning and writhing annoying to a fault and there was very little humour until the shoe-horned Tink /Falco sequence. Incomprehensible bollocks.
But boy what a spectacle.

Did anyone go to the singalong tonight?
This show has grown on me and I’ve seen it a couple of times now. Booked tonight’s singalong on a whim and we had a whale of a time- such a great atmosphere and surprisingly good fun! It seemed to be pretty much full from what I could see from where we were sat. I wouldn’t normally do a singalong, but after tonight I think I’d go again...

I was surprised to see the theatre nearly sold out (I did take a look at the ticket sales yesterday because I was curious how the singalong would sell) - if they can repeat it next time, I wonder if more jukebox musicals will follow suit.

The audience was really well behaved and sat and sang along to the big hits quite respectively I thought. The words were displayed on an unobtrusive dot matrix system at the very top of the stage so it was never in the way of the main action. The show seemed to run as normal- but the atmosphere was absulutely amazing- I’m guessing because of so many fans of the show in. The person I went with had never seen the show before and said that the singalong aspect didn’t spoil her enjoyment of it at all (although she’s a bit of a fan of karaoke so is a little biased in that respect). The sound levels from the cast seemed to be louder than normal from where I was too, and the audience were heard most in IACBTMN and IWDAFL. The atmosphere though really was incredible. |

I went to the singalong too and loved it! At the beginning they said we should sing-along with all the songs and quote along with the dialogue but they only put up the lyrics to select songs so I think it was a little confusing. The music was so loud in many of the songs that you couldn't hear whether the audience was singing or not (which meant for someone like me who is tone-deaf I could actually sing rather than just mouth the words for once!!) but in some of the quieter songs you could hear the scale of the singing and it was just joyful! As dontdreamit said the atmosphere was great, so much enthusiasm from the audience, I wouldn't want to see it for the first time in a singalong setting but it worked surprisingly well and felt like a real celebration of the show and how much (some!) people love it. I've booked again for Halloween  |

Reading Twitter today there seems to be so much good feedback from both cast and fans. Wish I could do the next one but sometimes childcare gets in the way of the best laid plans! |

I've just had a brief search of the website but clearly I'm either scrolling straight past them or not looking in the right place because I can't seem to see them. I'm curious to go to one and see how it goes and I know my mate would love it, they mentioned going this week but I couldn't make the date.

What a night! The whole cast brought their A game to send off Andrew Polec and Patrick Sullivan. Everyone was on fire; a couple of cheeky ad-libs from Andrew and an almost full house meant the atmosphere was something else. Jordan has some massive boots to fill!
NB- narrowly missed out on meeting our very own Viserys but foolish children forgetting their glasses meant our schedule got crazy tight! Kids huh?
? - anyone know what the kerfuffle was at the back of the circle just before ‘What Part of My Body’ was? Some lady wailing uncontrollably.

Well, I've spent a good 15 hours travelling on highways and railways yesterday and today, but it was so totally worth it for the incredible atmosphere at the pretty much packed Dominion yesterday evening. I can't add much to what danb has written, the energy yesterday was out of this world with everyone bringing their A-Game. I loved how respectful the fans overall were, nothing like the hysterics I had feared when I saw the dozens of ladies all dressed up in either show T-shirts or Strat T-shirts before the performance. Andrew got a standing ovation just for walking onto the stage at the beginning and I loved that he actually broke the fourth wall to thank people and this kind of cheerful good-natured thing set the mood for the evening. I was also happy that it wasn't ALL about him, and that Patrick Sullivan got a standing ovation at the end of "Objects" as well as a token of respect. Nice little speech for them both by Christina at the end. This spontaneous jaunt to the final performance was crazy perhaps, but I don't regret a single minute or penny spent on it. |
