Tickets range from £29 to £129 with £103 the price for the first few rows.

I would imagine they'll be performing the role of the Leading Player - as that would seem (to me at least) to be a fairly good fit vocally and in terms of overall stage presence, charisma, etc. (especially if we use the most recent Broadway revival which opened with Patina Miller as a reference). If this is the case, they better have chosen a Pippin who is also a really strong vocalist and who has a certain personality as well, or Alex Newell will totally eclipse them. I've seen Alex perform live only once (in the Broadway revival of 'Once on this island') and let me tell you that there was nothing subtle or small or quiet about their take on Asaka, and I wouldn't expect that kind of energy should they actually be the Leading Player here.

I've booked for this, one of my favourite musicals. Sitting further back in the stalls than I normally would due to the prices but there is a whole mid section of stalls off sale which I presume will be released tomorrow for general sale. I am also looking forward to seeing Alex Newell as I love her voice on the Shucked cast recording. I'm guessing she will be The Main Player?

I must admit I'm shocked at how little tickets have sold right now lol. Most people will never have heard of Pippin , I must admit I thought the Palladium a bit ambitious for this. I've only seen it once at the Menier I think, but did really enjoy it.Hope the sales pick up.

I'm guessing there will be more "names" to be announced otherwise it is going to struggle especially as they are doing 2 nights. I booked on presale as soon as it was announced and seating plan doesn't look much different now from when I booked. There is also a central block of stalls seats that wasn't on sale even during pre sale which I presume is for a ticketing agency.

I am a big fan of Pippin. Really enjoyed it at Charing Cross Theatre a couple of years ago and will probably end up going to this, but I'd like to hear more casting first, especially at those prices.

I enjoyed Pippin at the Menier but it was only after I saw it on Broadway that I realised that the Menier had cut virtually the whole second act. And having seen it on Broadway I could understand why.

As radical as the interpretation was, I have no memory of the script being substantially cut?

Alex Newell isn't by any means a big enough name on this side of the pond to sell this alone so let's hope there's some bigger/more exciting names to come. I also feel it ambitious putting on both performances at once. Best to sell one out then add another for this sort of event, surely?

I enjoyed Pippin at the Menier but it was only after I saw it on Broadway that I realised that the Menier had cut virtually the whole second act. And having seen it on Broadway I could understand why. Very intrigued by this comment. I saw the Menier production and have seen at least three other productions (both before the Menier and after). As radical as the interpretation was, I have no memory of the script being substantially cut? It's possible that I have been labouring under a misapprehension all these years. I commented on the old board when I got back from NYC how dull I had found the second act on Broadway. I mentioned the Menier production which I'd quite enjoyed at the time, although I didn't remember it strongly, and someone on here commented that the Menier production had been cut to pieces. But since I wasn't familiar with the musical prior to the Menier show, it's possible that I was given duff information. And looking back online at the reviews of the Menier production, none of them mention cuts in the context of the reinterpretation. So, I'm happy to say that I'm probably wrong in this statement.

90% of the time they add a matinee closer to the dates. They wait for the evening shows to be close to selling out first.

Whilst we wait for further casting I guess we can start to make suggestions.
I think Jac Yarrow would make a great Pippin and I'd like to see Louise Gold reprise her role as the grandmother.

Dame Julie Walters as Berthe “Humour handled by a master” indeed.

Perhaps I should offer to reprise my iconic doubling of Charles and Theo.

Producer Katy Lipson just said “casting bubbling well” so I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone like Dianne Pilkington as Berthe.

I can't wait to see who is in this. I love Pippin and if a couple of my faves are in it I'll be booking.

Surprised that with just over 3 weeks to go until this concert we haven't had any further cast announcements. Should we be worried?

A lot of tickets left for both perfomances. I know I'll only book/go as and when I know who else is in the cast.
