Just in case anybody didn't spot it, link to the news story takes you to the Telegraph site. I clicked on it but my Murdoch/Mail/Telegraph firewall is working well today

I just booked the shows I'm seeing on my trip next week (Allegiance, The Colour Purple, Finding Neverland (Not my no. 1 choices but i had to compromise based on what my casual theatre fan friends wanted)) and so I'm praying this all blows over soon!

I'm flying over in 24h - fingers crossed... but according to weather.com, temperatures will be low positive (around 5°C).

They should learn from us! We have such weather for a few months each year (at some cities for even longer), and gues if someone closes something. Today is casual -20 in Moscow, for example

Well, *someone's* sarcasm reader is on the blink today. Maybe I was being sarcastic by quoting the Telegraph? But I can assure you that my sarcasm detector is right back from the repair shop

Saturday was insane. At least I was holed up at BroadwayCon, watching Anthony Rapp tipsily call Patti LuPone as part of the "party line" event. (They called Audra McDonald, Betty Buckley, and Joel Grey, too.)
As it is, the snowbanks are so high in my own neighborhood in Queens that 1/2 to 3/4 of the sidewalk is impassable. What an adventure!

Yes, I'm perfectly good. Thanks for asking! We can't close the front gate at our house, and the back patio is hilariously full of snow, but all is well (as much as it can be).
I have to add that the walk from BroadwayCon to my hotel was actually rather magical. People were walking in the middle of the street, because why not? There were kids and adults having snowball fights, ordinary citizens pushing cars that were stuck (earlier in the day, I saw the same happen with some guys crossing the street who stopped to push a florist's van out of the snow), people making snow angels, etc. All the lights in Times Square were still on, so there was a really fun, colorful glow.
I'm still mad that BroadwayCon didn't have an impromptu snowball fight with a Broadway star of your choice. I joked about this to a volunteer and he said, "Well, Anthony Rapp is two doors down if you want to tell him." LOL.

Just think just over a month ago I was walking around with just Jeans and T-Shirt! Wouldn't be doing that today.
I know both shows were cancelled on Saturday was the show/s cancelled on Sunday too?

Both shows Saturday were canceled, but Sunday went on.
I was impressed (but also tired just) reading Equity president Kate Shindle's tweets.

Live from Times Square... Flight was on time, immigration hall at JFK was packed with people. Visitors weren't even allowed in. I was never happier for having enrolled in Global Entry, so I was through in 1min. Even US citizens had to wait pretty long. Only problem is that the AirTrain wasn't running, so I had to take a taxi to my hotel. Now I'm all good to see Avenue Q tonight

Great, you made it and in enough time to see Avenue Q tonight.
What other shows you're going to see?

Great, you made it and in enough time to see Avenue Q tonight. What other shows you're going to see? Wicked on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, I'm flying over to St Louis to see the Newsies US tour a few (ahem) times - which is the actual purpose of this trip. Lufthansa routed me through either Chicago or New York, so I decided to fly over two days earlier and include a layover in NY to see a certain Ms Tucker already in January. But I'm back on Broadway in mid March for a "proper" theatre trip.

Surprised you'll not seeing School of Rock ot the 'show'. Most Broadway theatres are dark on Monday, and Avenue Q was one of the few shows running tonight. Tomorrow Evening is reserved for Ms Tucker, and I'm not here anymore on Wednesday afternoon. I'll be seeing School of Rock in March.

(looking at the pic) And they are panicing because of THAT amount of snow?! I have to walk through such piles of snow each day!
