Such a lovely prospect, though I've got a horrible feeling this could become a Fletcher family affair...
Jungle Queen as Mrs Brown & old big hair as the villain.

With Sonia Friedman attached I'm not worried that it'll turn into something like the Christmasaurus

I’d love it to become a Fletcher family affair. I don’t get why people are so sour about it.

I expect Paddington to descend a staircase whilst the Browns sing “Paddy will never go away, again!”

He's a good songwriter so I'm not too worried. The key thing is how to portray Paddington on stage, my guess is a puppet similar to how they did Winnie the Pooh on stage.

I’ve thought for a while that Tom Fletcher should write a full musical. He’s a great song writer so I’ll be interested to hear it when it comes out.

Tom Fletchers more recent work is a bit hit and miss, but the producing team won't settle for something if they don't think its good enough.
If Frozen does hold on for another year, Paddington is the type of show that could possibly replace it. Its as big a brand name as Disney.

Maybe a short London stop at a small playhouse Everything so far suggests to me it will be more full scale musical rather than a small kids show. The universal appeal of Paddington, the massive success of the movies (3rd one on its way soon) with all ages, plus the viral success of the scenes of Paddington with the Queen. It a massive IP Whether it's Drury Lane big I don't know. But it's the only brand name I can think of at the moment that could in theory fill Drury Lane like Frozen and Shrek before it.

Paddington doesn't strike me as big scale compared to say My Neighbour Totoro or Frozen but saying that it depends on the type of story they want to tell.
It might not go to Drury Lane, Trafalgar is building the Olympia Theatre which is planned for 2025 and I may be putting 2+2 and getting 5 but this would be the sort of show they'd want.

Why Tom Fletcher is the question that comes to mind.

Heard so many rumours but the one thing I can say is that they were offered the Coliseum pre-Gatsby being locked in but said no as it's just too big 😂
Anyways, I'm sure wherever this is it'll make serious money.

It's still in development but I think it could go to the Adelphi or even the Olympia Theatre which I think is aiming for a late 2025 opening but might end up opening in early 2026.

I assume BTTF still stay put until Paddington is ready although given sales don't look that good for the former, I wonder if it'll make it to the end of the current booking period.

Paddington is at least a year off happening. A Workshop is happening right now for it. No idea re BTTF but they could easily get a filler in there if that closes early.

2:22 hasn’t played the Adelphi yet, in its mission to play every West End house.

BTTF has felt like imminent closing notice for the past year but somehow it's still limping on, I reckon it'll reach the last booking date but won't extend further. Maybe a filler then it'll be Paddington. Too early to tell though as this is all probably late 2025!!

A small extension to late August or early September 2025 would make sense for BTTF, it's currently booking to July 27th 2025 and would be odd to have the Adelphi dark over the summer holidays.
