ATG at least gave space to people like Lloyd and Friedman do to their own thing till now. This new dude does not sound promising, mentioning absolutely nothing about their producing arm.

I wasn't a fan of Mark, my few interactions with him, he didn't seem to care about the customers, so will be interesting to see what Ted is like.

Stimpson's comments don't really give an indication of what ATG is going to do - it's a word salad of "stay the course" but something prompted this move such that "stay the course" does not seem like it will be what actually happens going forward.
Looks like his major experience is in selling passes to entertainment venues.

ATG´s prices, especially on the cheapest seats, have risen madly this 2023 in the West End, making theatre even more elitist than it already is. One could hope they´d slow that down... but we know it won´t happen. They do have excellent box office teams (much nicer than LW and DMT, in my experience), so hopefully they "stay the course" in that.

Can't remember when or where I read this, but it was mentioned that their ambition was to replace all the Bway ticketing companies like Seetgeek with their platform, so Stimpson seems suited for that. I do think their platform is more intuitive to use than all the others. But ultimately the only thing I really care about is that they don't mess with their production arm, which does good work. God forbid we get another version of WB-David Zaslav, sh*tting on everything good.

I can't imagine Ted Stimpson touching the production arms of ATG like Jamie Lloyd Company or SFP, if anything after trying to acquire more venues over the last few years, it would be a sensible strategy to look to acquire production companies or producers.

Lots of talk about “experiences” in that article. Guess that means more stuff like Moulin Rouge and Cabaret, decent shows with gimmicky nightclub nonsense tacked on to flog extra food and drink to the more gullible punters and raise prices even more.
The idea of them getting bigger and taking over more of the UK’s theatres is depressing. The ones they have are pretty run-down except for the bar areas, the only bit they’re really interested in.

This comment is weird. Underbelly were already looking to set the production in a nightclub, ATG joined in later, the director and designer have spoken about it. Fault them from wanting to create "experiences" elsewhere (ahem Plaza Suite) but you think the amount of time, money and creativity spent on the Playhouse was just to flog more drink? And that people are so stupid they'd keep coming to the show for that, years after its hyped opening? Guys and Dolls and its very raved immersive experience is hardly selling at the same rate MR started on Broadway, and ATG are not a producer on it.
