Sunday 15 October 2023 lwtheatres.co.uk/whats-on/darren-criss/I looked yesterday and could have bagged a front row for the evening performance, but was put off at the thought of being the aged 60+ woman there for the tunes amongst the fans. And spend the day regretting it. So got a lovely seat for the matinee this morning. I've been tempted every time I've seen announcements about Darren Criss performing and have always put my bank card away ... But this time I'm going. Read through some other threads on here and I'm hoping for a good set.

Not entirely sure what he did pre-Glee! but it's good to see that he continued with a music career.
It's also affirming that, whilst there was (no doubt auto-tuning to a certain extent), that the cast could sing!

I was in 2 minds about booking for this. I liked him in Glee and also saw him as part of the Glee concert some years ago at the o2 but when I read he was coming with his 4 piece band I had a feeling this would be more pop based than MT based so decided to give it a miss. Also the ticket prices were pretty high unless you sat right at the back.

Wow! What a concert. The most varied setlist you could imagine, he really did achieve the goal of having something in there for everyone. He’s got a great energy - absolutely wonderful!
My first introduction to A Very Potter Musical - I’m going to have to find and watch it now.
So glad I went!

Very positive reviews of his concerts on x/twitter tonight but surprisingly also a lot of phone photos and videos of the show posted which also show mobiles openly recording . As it was the London palladium it just seems strange and hopefully a one of as this was billed as a concert.

Videos were allowed. Luckily people were respectful and it didn’t impede.

I'd put my phone away in my bag as usual, but grabbed it again when they announced that we were welcome to take photos and videos (but NO flash!) I took lots of pictures (was in the front row) Excellent concert.

Man that was something else! Exceeded expectations (although I honestly don't know what I should have expected, like that bloke John at the 2.30) ... Isn't Darren Criss just the loveliest guy! I was a bit "eek" at the opening "God Save The King" thing on the piano, but the rest of the show was terrific. Some Glee stuff, some show stuff, some personal stuff (I loved the "Walk Of Shame"). I *was* that 60+ woman in with the (beautifully behaved) fan girls, DC was at pains to say how inclusive he wanted the show to be, something for everyone, which was lovely. He was chatty, friendly, and I'm certainly going to look up more about him and, like above, got to go find out about this Very Potter Musical. Lovely performance too from Carrie Hope Fletcher.
I inwardly howled at the "please feel free to take photos and dance" announcement over the PA as the lights went down. But I took exactly 5 photos towards the end - and I did a dance too. Excellent evening and I won't hesitate to see DC again if he's here. Twitter (refuse to call it the other thing) has some amazing photos!
Well done Lambert Jackson.

I had a look at the setlist online. Love that he includes Easy Lover.
