Jason Robert Brown directs The Last 5 Years at the St James Theatre, Fri 28 Oct - Sat 26 Nov 2016. Interesting that the twitter account of the show says that it joined in August 2015!

Would have loved to have Cynthia Erivo do this after hearing her rendition of 'I Can Do Better Than That'.

Really hoping this isn't the biggest theatre announcement of the week, only seen the film and it was meh, but Samantha Barks draws me in!

Wondered why JRB was tweeting about a mysterious London trip earlier this week!

This is one of my favourite shows and I'm excited, but I personally don't see Sam as Cathy - I hope she proves me wrong!

The music is really what makes this show as there's not much they can do with staging as it's solo after solo after solo so if you're not much for it now you probably wont love the show.

It's really not one of my favourite shows, but glad to see Sam Barks is back in the West End - a brilliant performer

I was talking to a friend a few hours ago how I'd love to see/secretly be in a production of this so I am rather excited by this!

Oooh I love this show. It's one of my favourite musicals. Last I saw was the Greenwich production which was brilliant.
Not sure Samantha Barks would have come to mind if I was casting TL5Y but I love her as a performer. Don't really know of Jonny Bailey except he was Cassio in Othello at the National.
Hopefully this doesn't sell TOO fast, I'd like to get tickets but not sure if I have the time / money to pounce on Monday morning!

I saw the Greenwich production also, I didn't get the same feeling. I would have been happier if they announced the Bridges of Maadison County, which is awesome.

Madison County is a way better musical- but I want it done properly (therefore not at the St James)

I'm definitely booking for this. Love JRB. Yes, would have looked a full production of BRIDGES (one of his best scores, and one of THE best theatre scores ever written in my opinion), but I love THE LAST FIVE YEARS so all is good. Sam Barks will give me something nice to look at as well!

I love Sam Barks, but not even she makes me sit through a JRB score. Horrible.

Yeah there's been a few TL5Y productions done here now hasn't there? Would have been nice to see Bridges instead. I like the scores about equally but Bridges is certainly more entertaining to watch.

This is exciting. I love The Last Five Years, AND Sam Barks.
This is happy news on a bad morning. Hopefully the prices aren't too bad.

Jonathan Bailey's costume had better be tight.

How long is Murder Ballad at Arts theatre running? Is it possible to see the 5pm show there and then the 7:30 show of the last 5 years?

Murder Ballad is 90 min with no interval so you should be fine to get to a 7:30 curtain
Enjoy both!
