It will supposedly be shown on Sky Arts at 6pm on Sunday 26th May. And it's actually listed in the TV guide now! That's a big step up from last time. 😂 Still won't get too excited until I'm actually watching it and not an Eagles concert.

Wonderful that's its on the sky planner and at 2 hours 40 the UK seems to be getting the whole show , 30 mins of adverts but better than a edited version.
The blu-ray does not seem to be on Amazon UK yet but did find a German site advertising it so looks like it will be region free even if it's a American only release. Seller Ravewaves on ebay always seem a great option for American only release both cds and blu-rays.

Well…Ovenden was good, AJ was ace and Jo Ampil impressed, but the rest was a bit of a snoozefest, but I wouldn’t call myself an old-school musicals kind of dude.

Just finished watching it. Really well filmed and apart from a couple of cuts from speeches I think it was the full show.
In the credits it said "rerecorded at Pinewood Studios". Does that mean the re did some of the vocals. Maybe for the CD release?

I’ve only watched up to the interval so far, but from what I remember of the cinema screening I think they trimmed the speeches quite a bit. I specifically remember being cut is the at the end of Rita Moreno’s story about her being cast in The King and I over an actual Asian actress. She got a round of applause when she said “I got the part”, but the whole point of the story was that she shouldn’t have been cast as an Asian, so they cut the applause.
She also had a joke when she was swatting away a fly or moth or whatever, and she said something like “that Chita Rivera gets everywhere!”

At the concert Rita's speech was longer and she was quite naughty so those bits were cut for cinema and TV. Maria Friedman also talks about the dress she wore in King & I and ALW speaks about a poster he has in the theatre which had links to Richard Rogers

They’ve cut it a little bit more then. The ALW story about Oklahoma! originally being called Away We Go! and him having one of the original posters up in his office was in the cinema screening, as was Rita Moreno’s story about Deborah Kerr’s knickers.

Yes, it is on Apple, but it is not easy to find. It is on iTunes trending soundtracks now though, so you can always access it that way.
I’ve listened to it today. I haven’t seen the broadcast yet, but think it sounds glorious, particularly Audra McDonald and Julian Ovenden. It is nice to have his opt up on ‘This Nearly Was Mine’ preserved. I’ve been listening to that on repeat! The orchestra also sounds lush!
The whole thing makes me remember how much I love the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, particularly CAROUSEL. What absolutely beautiful music!

Bit odd since they just released it via pay for streaming and physical cds but the official R&H site has now posted the full album on YouTube for free. There is even a chapter list to jump between tracks.

Similar concert recently announced at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 26 June 7.30pm. John Wilson Orchestra and guest soloists to be announced.
Decent seats around the £100 mark.
