A hobby of mine is designing small scale LEGO models of my favourite theatres. This model of The Old Vic is the first one I've been able to buy the parts for physically and build, but I have a few other designs and I'm hoping to build a nice little collection over time. Hope this is okay to share here, I figure there must be other LEGO nerds out there amongst us theatre fans If anyone else has made models, dioramas or other crafty theatre-related stuff, I'd really love to see it!

I really love it - well done! I especially like how you've done the curved corners at ground level and also the pediment. So cool. It's nice it's on a shiny flat base too. I like how you've got the white facade and the brown brick side part too. I'm very impressed!

I'm really pleased with how it ended up looking I spent lots of time looking at reference images and videos to try and get the details right, it's not perfect and there's always limitations with available LEGO parts but that's part of the fun

oooh that's lovely, hope you tagged them on IG or Twitter! Thank you! I posted on Instagram and got some really lovely replies from The Old Vic, Andy Karl, Tanisha Spring and a couple of other GHD cast members (I was also singing the cast/show's praises because I love GHD very much). Made my day tbh

Why did you choose the Old Vic as your first model ? I happened to get the idea to start designing these models just after we'd planned our trip to The Old Vic to see Groundhog Day so it seemed like a great one to start with, especially with it being such a beautiful building. The next one I'll be building is the Cambridge (another theatre I visited recently, love Matilda too, can you tell I'm a Tim Minchin fan) which is a unique challenge because of its angles with it being on a corner. I'd like to have one for every theatre I've been to eventually.

These are great and this is really fun! You’ve chosen cool theatres to model too. I always look at both the Old Vic and Cambridge as I pass and think ‘how does the theatre fit in there!’

Another successful model! It's so cool, possibly even cooler than the Old Vic one. Well done ! It looks so realistic, especially if you squint your eyes. Did you make a video of the construction ? Again I love the base

Again I love the base Thank you I haven't made a video for this one yet, but I might do at some point. Fun fact, the Old Vic building animation is actually deconstruction played in reverse (it was easier to capture the frames that way, I have put it back together since!)
