I think the confusion arose because Hugh is understudying Dolly at The Palladium. They haven’t said anything because folks haven’t been told that Tuesday night is Imelda’s darts night (which Hugh is doing.)

Oh I hope this isn’t true, it really needs to be on central!

Erm, this has a theatre booked, and is fully financed. So….. It’s called a marketing strategy. Is it really the Park?

They just removed it. Now it says TBC.
The Park Theatre has a decent 200 seat venue space.
It's not gonna be the same show anyways, it was always bound to be changed for whatever space it was going, and more importantly for the audience it is playing to!
I believe it's been booked in for more than 12 weeks, wherever it is. And even after, it likely has a great touring life ahead of itself in smaller venues.

I don’t imagine it’s going to the Park at all.

Today Tixs also says it opens 16th April 2024. It didn't. 😂 what a pickle!

I think a venue the size of the Park is absolutely perfect, I think this would lose all it's charm in virtually any West End house. The Other Palace would be a wonderful venue for this.

The Other Palace would be great but would go against its aim (yes let’s go down ‘Heathers’ debate) as this show can be a long runner as it has been at the Daryl Roth in Union Square so whilst it could start there, it should be in a venue where it can run a long time (provided it has the same success here). The Arts would be perfect but they have found their hit, Choir of Man, & that would have to close so it does come down too, where does this show go?!

This is why we need more centrally located 200 - 300 seat theatres.

Oh absolutely, TOP is a terrible choice mission-wise, just perfect auditorium for it... feels like we have lots of fantastic 100 seat venues and lots of fantastic 1000+ venues, but very few in that sweet spot like the Arts and TOP (that would be commercially appealing to this show, at least)

Looks like it could've been placeholder text then. I do wonder where it will go.

@sohoplace in its thrust capacity offers the intimacy Titanique would need.

I’ve heard it’s going to the Criterion.

Would they re-configure an old classic like the Criterion for this or just stick in on the stage?

That's a shame if it is the Criterion. I'd hoped Two Strangers would have a longer run

Two Strangers is definitely not selling as well as hoped. A cursory glance at the seat plan will tell you that. I don't believe it was an open-ended run anyways. Two Strangers ran an AGGRESSIVE ad campaign on social media to try and mop up any extra sales for that type of audience. I believe the Park Theatre text on TodayTix was a mistake; it was probably added around the same time as the Park Theatre's current season was added on the system, and the details were likely copy-pasted from one of their entries to save time. I wasn't really too hot on it going there anyways; it's a pain to get to for me! I can see it going to the Criterion.

Also how can you do a Céline musical and omit her three best songs, even if one was a cover. (That’ll be Think Twice, Power Of Love and All Coming Back To Me). I'm always amazed to be reminded of the fact that Twink Twice, despite being a mega hit in the UK, didn't do much elsewhere. I believe even Céline barely performs it. Shocking! I'd also have thought the Arts was the perfect place for this! Keen to see it but they have to get the right person as Céline! Before the streaming era, it's physical sales were pretty much equal with My Heart Will Go On. It was a top 10 hit in several countries, but crucially not the US.

I would imagine It's All Coming Back to Me isn't in Titanique because they couldn't get the rights from the Jim Steinman estate. Yes I think you could well be right! Maybe that's also the issue with Power of Love!? Good! That's Jennifer Rush's song. I refuse to associate it with La Dion!

Looks like I wrote the original post and I am STILL gobsmacked that this musical doesn't contain Think Twice, Power of Love and All Coming Back. Given how huge they were all here - perhaps they could think about substituting them in for the UK version. Would certainly tempt me to give this show another go!

I suspect it's a licensing thing, some songwriters or their estates ask for a lot.

Is it licensed? Or is it under fair use because of it being parody?
Song rights are RIDICULOUSLY expensive.

I wonder if Bat Out of Hell makes it so that It's All Coming Back can't be used? Although not uncommon for multiple jukebox musicals to use the same songs!
