This a 1933 play that was never staged until a few years ago that was discovered. First UK production if I am not mistaken.
The play itself is fine, three short acts - the two first played with only a short interruption between them to change the set. It can feel a bit naive and repetitive, you can clearly see the author's thoughts about the topic, but I was never bored. When you consider that it is 90 years old, you can understand how open it was for its time.
The acting is good but Laura Doddington is excellent. I didn't know her and I was impressed by her craft. I would recommend the play just to see her; she definitely should be doing bigger things on stage, such a natural, believable actor you don't come across that often.
