Runs 4-28 August this year.
2,965 shows are currently listed on the Fringe website, with more to be announced on 8 June when the printed programme is out.
Who's Edinburgh bound this summer?

I live in a commutable distance of Edinburgh so I'll certainly being some bits and pieces. Plenty to see but it certainly looks like more acts are doing partial runs, it is such an expensive prospect you can't blame them.

Looking through the summerhall programme, England and son with Mark thomas, and 'salty irina' about two girls who infiltrate a local far right group to solve a racist murder stand out

I've booked my accommodation and.my trains and so now have a nervous wait about rail strikes. I'm very, very pleased the app is coming back and is apparently going to contain your tickets. Trying to find the right email was a nightmare.

I am booked back at the wonderful flat we stayed at last year, after an absence of over forty years (!!!) and have booked 26 events for 6 days so far. Sunday is looking relaxed so far (just one play) in case I make it to Stirling Castle. If not, will have to add a few more.
Not risking the rail strikes. Flying there and back.

If anyone sees adverts for carry on carrying on I can highly recommend saw it in Birmingham few weeks back it’s fabulous really worth catching … great insight into Peter Rodger’s and the carry on films 🎥 with all the iconic characters performed by one man

Welcome to the Board, adambrown76. We already had a thread for the Edinburgh Fringe, so I've moved your post and those that followed.

Well, it's the 1st of August, I'm off to collect my media accreditation shortly, and I already have 7 plasters on my feet! Good luck everyone, may the odds be ever in your favour - and wear comfortable footwear!

We are there from the 14th with Locusts - a one-act based on the impact of gay-conversion therapy. Can't wait to get back to Edinburgh and see what everyone has been making!

Welcome to the Board, adambrown76 . We already had a thread for the Edinburgh Fringe, so I've moved your post and those that followed. Hi TallPaul - sorry, new to the board - could you point me in the direction of that thread? I'd love to chat to other fringe theatre makers.

MEEEE! First time in 6 years, so very excited! Only going for 4 nights though. Past experience has taught me what an incredibly expensive weekend away this can be!
(cheaper to go abroad, TBH!)

Austentatious is always a must watch, as is Showstopper The Improvised Musical.

I'm lucky that my parents live very close to Edinburgh, but I didn't manage to go at all last year. Only have 3 shows planned so far but hoping to see some reccomendations pop up when it starts properly.
Currently seeing - Grubby Little Mitts: Hello, Hi Kathy and Stella Solve a murder On Your Bike

Tomorrow Godcatcher - Really intriguing.
Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder - Saw it last year and very excited to see it again in its latest incarnation!
Not got anything else booked yet as I've got the privilege of living quite close to Edinburgh but if its anything like last year I'll be down almost every day I have off work.
It's a shame mischief theatre aren't here this year as they were a highlight for me last year but that crew are on to bigger things at the moment.
Will be keeping an eye on opinions to hopefully not miss anything exciting.

I'm sadly not up this year - though am heading to the Highlands, instead. I've been every year (with the exception of Covid years!) for quite a few years now, and I can't help but feel like things are a bit... sparse?... this year? I tend to see more comedy than theatre, but if one takes the Pleasance Courtyard, for instance, it seems to be far slimmer pickings in each space in terms of the numbers of shows on. With prices only going one way - for performers and punters - I do wonder whether the Big Four are killing the golden goose, rather?

Across the festival as a whole, with hundreds of additions to the lineup after programme launch, it's officially the second biggest Fringe ever. According to The Scotsman, only 2019 tops it for number of shows. I've personally found planning for this year harder than ever because there's so much I want to see.

Day 1! The outside areas in both Bristo and George Square were very quiet today. I'm just hoping it was due to people seeing shows, it's only the first day after all and the shows that WERE on are in previews.
Godcatcher - It's a bit slow to get going but... THE MUSIC from the first song to the last. Every single song is really strong especially the jazzy hermes one. Genuinely think it would be beneficial for them to cut all the book scenes and make it sung-through. They are almost there already and all the book did was elaborate what happened in a song or vice versa. It'll get stronger as they polish it up a bit during the next few days but a brilliant start to the fringe. SO much potential. The set is basic but effective. 3.5 stars.
Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder - I've been a hypeman for a year for this show and WOW it deserves it. A new upgraded version of the show and its absolutely glorious. Brontè, Bex, Imelda and Jodie all are standouts. Absolutely fantastic. They've added instrument's other than a keyboard, A SET, AN ENSEMBLE. It's how I felt when I watched the first preview of mincemeat in the west end. Considering going again tomorrow before going back to work. PLEASE GO AND SEE THIS. If you live in Manchester or Bristol, please support this brilliant new musical. It's absolutely hilarious and you're guaranteed to leave with a smile on your face. 5 stars.

It was probably quiet due to the rain coming in sideways for most of the day!
