For the love of god I’ve no idea how I manage buying tickets for all the new shows/productions going on sale atm. In the 10 days I’ve bought A Long Days Journey into Night, Macbeth (Donmar), Hadestown, My Neighbour Totorro, Roman Holiday, Strange Loop, Pygmalion and Brannagh’s Macbeth goes on sale soon. I am doomed to have no kidneys. Am I the only one? I can’t imagine so.

I have a list of shows to book and I'm ticking them off one at a time as can't afford to book all at once.

I’m just hoping after Branagh’s Macbeth there won’t be too much for the next month or so I've booked anything that I know will sell out quickly but the ones that will be around for a while or not selling really fast have gone on my list.

That's interesting as I haven't booked anything in ages and the only thing I want to book is Mincemeat (I've seen it twice already at Southwark and I'm hoping for discounts). The other show is Pacific Overtures (just waiting for the booking date).
I haven't been to the theatre for 3 weeks and I am really enjoying the break.

I bought the Donmar membership when Macbeth was announced as I knew otherwise it would sell out, even though I can't really afford it with 2 other memberships running also (Almeida and Royal Court!) but anyway! I also booked for Mincemeat and a couple of cheaper things. Have seen Totoro once and that is enough for me, and not sure I want to rush back to see Long Day and neither I'm bothered by the Branagh Macbeth, and Strange Loop or Hadestown. I decided as my 2023 resolution to only go for stuff that I really want to see and trying very hard to stick to this lol. Booked a while ago for Pygmalion but it was a cheap seat.

With so many theatres now announcing new seasons, it's both a blessing and a curse. It's great to fill the diary with theatre stuff. It's something to look forward to but with the ongoing train strikes, I am currently putting lists together of shows I want to book for but require train travel to get to those places as every time I go on a ticket buying spree, the train unions immediately announce a new batch of strike dates that coincide with the booked stuff!

I recently booked tickets for Totoro and Bonnie and Clyde. Otherwise though I'm biding my time booking everything else I want to see in case of Rush tickets, TodayTix flash sales, another SOLT sale e.c.t.

I payed £85 to become a friend of the Donmar Warehouse. So glad I did as I got tickets in the front row of the circle last friday before they went on general sale. All sold out now. And I'm going on the second night wich is December the 9th and it's my birthday. Even with the £85 so much cheaper than my Good tickets last December. I couldn't get any online as I was too late. But as I had already booked a trip for my bikrthdsy to London I just went to the boxoffice and was able to get tickets for December the 8th. They weren't very cheep. But 11 rows from front and it was an amazing view. And to add to it Peter Davidson David's father in law and his wife sat next to my dad and I.
