Decided to sack off row C and got them to put it up for resale, then booked a single seat through the offer link on the website. Got row N for £57, which is a bit further back than I would have liked but a pretty good view and price considering how expensive this is now. Seems every time I go to one of Michael Harrison’s shows at the Palladium there’s a show stop. Today’s matinee was no different. The crocodile jaws came up, Jennifer got in, and then didn’t go anywhere. Stage manager got her out, she walked off the stage, Julian filed for a minute with a bit of patter, but then they all were sent off while the jaws were closed and lowered under the stage again. Killed a bit of the momentum right at the end, but still loved it. Haven’t laughed so much in ages, and even having been to a couple before I’m still amazed with how much filth they get away with.

Has anyone done the standing yet? How is it if so?

Has anyone done the standing yet? How is it if so? Back in the day we used to stand for ‘Joseph’ all the time. It’s a long way back but if its something bright & gaudy it doesn’t make much difference. Definitely worth it; choose it over the upper circle!

I'm too tall for every seat in the upper circle so standing is my only way in for this - just wondered if anyone had done it and could let me know if I'll miss anything important

Haven’t stood myself but there’s a picture here from another show aviewfrommyseat.co.uk/photo/179453/The+London+Palladium/section-Stalls/row-Standing/seat-16/Which doesn’t look as bad as I’d have expected. In terms of this show, assume you’d miss anything above ground so… the fairy is shown first as a little glowing bubble on a wire that whizzes above the stalls and past the circle, then another over the stage just as Rob Madge jumps out from the wings, there’s a flying scene as Peter Pan and the kids go to Neverland, one of Jennifer Saunders’ entrances is on a ship that is wheeled on from the side, at the end of Act one Julian comes down from above strapped into some rainbow coloured neon wings, then goes to the front of the stage and flies off over the audience like at the end of Mary Poppins. There’s also parts of the Timbuktu Tumblers act that would be missed.

Standing is quite good as usual. You only miss the high flying bits and you kind of know what happens with them. Pan's entrance is high so only see his feet but he soon comes down.
Can't think of any other things missed really. and you don't get peoples heads in the way.

It seems that at the moment the price for all single seats is 45 pounds! This was not the case two hours ago and I don't know how long the offer will last. Hurry up!

Could be wrong but I think they do that on the day for remaining single seats. Doesn't seem to be the case for any future performances. Peter Pan has sold really well this year. There's usually huge availablity for the final week or so but this year the January 2024 performances are already 75% sold.

Oddly enough they are now selling single seats at 45 pounds for the entire run. This might change of course (I checked around noon and they just had the usual 25% discounted single seats and then I checked again at 2pm they offered all single seats for 45 pounds each) so you'd better rush if you know when you would like to see the show.

Does this offer have to be accessed in a way other than from the seating plan for individual dates ? That's where I looked and couldn't find it.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Centre stalls seat sorted for the new year at a bargain price. I've put the savings made into a preshow tour of the Palladium as it's one theatre I have always wanted to have a good look around so win-win.

I did the tour of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, but that's the only one I can see on LW Theatres website. Thanks.

It is a pre-show tour (I've booked for a matinee) with a programme included i think. £35 was what I was charged.

Great show, the money they can and do spend on props and scenery should be applauded. In particular the massive crocodile at the rear of the stage for a brief few minutes in the first act Has anyone ever seen one of these with one of the leads off/ill? How would they work around that given the script and the lines are so much based on the individual performers rather than the characters.

Soon as I saw that I thought "that's where the money has gone" - well, that and the stars salaries. I've often wondered what they'd do if Julian (in particular) was off sick. I'm assuming he has a cover as I can't imagine they'd cancel the whole show but it would be very, very different and I'm sure some punters would want refunds. The whole show is really built around him and his punchlines.

Everyone in the programme has an understudy listed…except for Paul Zerdin so I guess they would cut Paul’s scenes out as he might be a hard one to replicate!

My fears about the seats were resolved by upgrading my husband and daughter to the circle when dynamic pricing really kicked it at about 11am today. My friend and I stayed in the severely restricted view seats. Row C is less restricted than Row B and we thought it was the bargain of the century. The only thing I couldn’t see was the back of the stage (where very little happens) and Nigel after he came out of the musculator.
Overall, this was my highlight of the year. First time at the Palladium panto and I’d go back and watch it again tomorrow.

Thank god for Julian Clary.
