Curious as to what will transfer from the current Broadway season. Of the musicals, I would say The Notebook and Tommy the most likely two to make it to the West End. The others I think it unlikely we see in their current productions, although The Outsiders would be nice to see transfer (and Lempicka, but with its current numbers I'd say very doubtful)
For plays I imagine we could see Stereophonic at Hampstead theatre or somewhere similar.

Isn't Stereophonic produced by Sonia Friedman? She'd probably take it straight into the West End.

Have any rumours been swirling for the following Harold Pinter show after THOC?

War Horse coming back too... Good stuff - thanks! War Horse to the NT? The tour hits London start of September. That’s the current plan I believe? It might have changed so don’t quote me. An adaptation of ‘ballet shoes’ for Christmas. The importance of being earnest too, with a very starry cast…

Tommy wasn't successful first time around in the West End so the revival might be seen as a risk.

Could Jeremy Strong’s An Enemy of the People transfer to @sohoplace? It’s currently on Circle in the Square which has similar configurations as @sohoplace. He might perform in London after two years, and he’ll most likely be extensively promoting his upcoming film, The Apprentice, which is going to be in competition at Cannes this year. (Given the film’s subject matter and the upcoming US election…) Or not transfer at all since Matt Smith’s version is recent?

So there is a short filler going into Gielgud until end of July when Opening Night was meant to close and then something scheduled goes in for a run before Olivier opens December 14th. Any news on any of that? Ta!

I found out about Oliver at the Gielgud through theatreboard, but that still leaves a bunch of West End venues empty for the autumn/winter season. Have you guys heard any rumour of what is going into Drury Lane and The Gillian Lynne? It’s odd that The Wizard Of Oz and Frozen close respectively on the same day, that’s two LW Theatres venues that will be empty. Wonder if it’ll be a transfer situation or if they’ll put new work into the venues?

What about the Southwark venues for July? Seems to be fairly empty thus far while a lot has been announced for later this year. And really hoping for The Baker's Wife to follow Jerry's Girls at the Menier, just gone extremely quiet.

Sinatra was due to head to the West End after its run in Birmingham last year, so I wonder if that could do well in the GL. Would’ve also liked to have seen What’s New Pussycat? transfer too.

It was suggested that My Neighbour Totoro had Gillian Lynne from early 2025.

I'd love to see it, even if it's trimmed down to fit even the GL. Maybe this rumoured run is for working out a more downsized version?
My Smaller Neighbour Totoro could have a great life touring.

Has anything ever come of the rumours of a transfer of Spring Awakening from the Almeida to the West End?

I’ve been saying this for years but Beetlejuice would absolutely fit in the Gillian Lynne. And if not, Roald Dahl’s The Witches. Both perfect for that space. I’d be interested to see what goes in after The Wizard Of Oz.

It is depressing when theatres have to constantly rely on stuff like Heathers and 2:22 for a filler. Nothing from Bath, Chichester or other regions?

Maybe tourists will think "oh! that keeps coming back, must be good. We should go!" But, as a tourist, I can say I'm not one of those for heathers and 2:22, but perhaps the thought process? or maybe they were just the most ready to go into the gieguld... which seems a tragedy

Considering it had a transfer from the Winter Garden a few years back with a similar cast history (School of Rock)...
For Totoro, I'd still equally love to see to give it a chance to have a smaller scale touring life. I've missed all the chances to see that show until now.

Strange to just get one show announced today from the NT. Usually a slate from them and especially when at least two other shows (Antigone and Coriolanus) have been confirmed.

I really want to see Corialanus ( one of my A level texts so have a strange fondness for it despite it being a tricky play).
