JFOD was mentioned elsewhere as a possible candidate for the Shaftesbury, makes sense as the run in Toronto is January-March so enough time to transfer the cast and set back to London for a May-June open. Could I ask what JFOD is? |

Just for One Day Only and Beetlejuice are good shouts.
Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comets of 1812 could go there. I also wonder if Some Like it Hot could slot in there.

No the Great Comets is going to go somewhere in the West End, as it sold very well, sold out in days. The Shaftsbury is similar size to the Imperial where Comet played on Broadway. Doubtfire didn’t do that well on Broadway, but done really well here.

Doubtfire didn’t do that well on Broadway, but done really well here. Despite being sold out at the Donmar, Next to Notmal struggled to achieve that same “sold out” status at the Wyndhams. If Comet does transfer I’d imagine it to be to a smaller house. |

The Donmar production is not the same as Broadway so it’s unlikely they’re aiming for a transfer to a theatre as big as the Shaftesbury.

Next to Normal took a long time to sell out didn’t it? Like months, Comet sold out in days. Next To Normal sold the majority of their tickets in the first few days. Just like Great Comet. The Donmar is so small basically everything sells out. The main thing that warrants a transfer for Donmar shows is how many people are on the waiting list for tickets and the exposer online. |

And @sohoplace after 19th October! Was there ever any credibility behind Till The Stars Come Down transferring? I would love to see this production live, but I reckon sohoplace would want a musical for the Christmas season to sell tickets. It had an absolutely extraordinary set of reviews, and pretty much sold out its relatively short run in the Dorfman. It also received Olivier nominations for Best Play and Best Supporting Actress for Lorraine Ashbourne. It was a family drama which spoke about the times we live in. Baz Bamigboye had suggested there was a strong possibility it might transfer in and there are social media handles for it on X and Facebook. So who knows? If we don't get an announcement soon, then chances fade with time. I just hope the screening on NT at Home hasn't dampened the enthusiasm for another live run. Fingers crossed though. It would be perfect for @sohoplace. |

Early to mid 2025 seems to be filling up nicely, the only West End theatres left to announce are the Harold Pinter, the Noel Coward and @sohoplace.
