Has anyone bern able to do a four show day? How was your experience? I did it last week starting with The Snowman at 11am.

That’s very impressive!! I managed a three show day on a couple of occasions (most recently, I think it was Come From Away matinee, then the Constellations 5pm and then Carousel at Regents Park).
I did see on someone’s Twitter of a recent 5 show day in New York. I think they did a morning show of Sesame Street, then a matinee at 2, 5pm Titanique, an evening show at 8 and then a late night comedy show.
Would be interested in what you saw

Relevant to this subject, I was discussing at home only very recently how weird it is that there is so little late-night theatre. I've been to the 11pm shows of Sleep No More in New York, but there's not much else I can think of.
I'd have thought there would be an economic case for certain shows (Cabaret?) to offer 10pm or 11pm options at the weekend, especially shows that can rotate cast members and crew.
Where demand outstrips supply, why not run 14 to 16 shows a week using two sets of cast/musicians/crew? Hamilton when it first opened could probably have sustained that for a while. It also offers the option for cast members, where vocally possible, to do their eight weekly performances over fewer days, so having more whole days off.
No doubt obstacles would be possible union objections and council licensing limiting hours.
Cinema seems to have regressed in this area. When I was a student, most venues had midnight screenings on Friday and Saturday. Not many do now. I am however fortunate to have a Showcase near me, and, not only do they still retain that tradition, they also have post-10pm shows every night of the week. That means I can sometimes do a full day's work followed by a three-movie evening.

I have done a 3 show evening, no 4 show day but could have added a matinee but whether I would still be awake at the end would be questionable.
7:30 Woyzeck.Old Vic 10:00 Cover my Eyes Old Vic 12:00 Twelfth Night Globe
The Globe is the only Theatre that I know of that regularly schedules a late night show.

Not sure if this counts but this was a regular thing for me at the Edinburgh Fringe last year. Can't wait to do it again this year! Usually very exhausting and mostly rewarding once you find that hidden gem.

I didn't know about The Globe. That's very useful!

I did it last December: Mother Goose, Six, Frozen, Austentatious. Deliberately picked an aisle seat for Six to ensure I can leg it out in time.
I've done 3 shows on a number of occasions. Most recent was Play That Goes Wrong, One Woman Show, The Nutcracker.

Ask anyone who's been to the Fringe and they'll laugh at your single figured attempt

I'm thinking of doing 4 shows this Saturday (Mother Goose, Six, One Woman Show and Allegiance)... I'll let you know if I'm successful! By the way I've done 4 shows in my country, Greece: a children's play at 3pm, a matinee (they start at 5.30 or 6pm), an evening show (they start at 9pm) and a late night show (at midnight).

I have experience with fringe performances, but those are usually 75 to 90 minutes each and they space them out so you can do multiple performance in one day. On my recent trip of 10 days I saw Sleeping Beauty - Great Concepts Newsies - Thrilling and Visually Effective Elf - Fun Holiday Treat Best of Enemies - Provocative American Policitic Mother Goose - Lovely Funny Mess Jack and The Beanstalk - Festive and Visually Stunning The Snowman - Pedestrian Child's Play Orlando - Intriguing Slog A Christmas Carol/Bridge - Confusing Retelling Magic Mike Live - Eye Candy and Skill Bugsy Malone - Entertaining Children The Sex Party - Great Start But Unsatisfying Ending Back To The Future (8th time) - Guilty Pleasure Moulin Rouge (8th time) - Crowdpleaser Peaky Blinders: The Rise - Drunken Party The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe - Overstuff

Not sure I’d like a four show day. I’ve done a couple of three show days, but that felt like enough to me.
Though that may be because those three show days were Pinter at the Pinter and Young Chekhov at the NT. 😂

I can manage two shows in a day but three or four, I'd start to flag during the third or fourth show.

There are some visiting companies/productions every summer during the Hellenic Festival that lasts for 6 weeks and some rare visits from touring companies during the winter season. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Athens.

There definitely could be more Sunday evening shows on but, yes, I know theatres and performers would probably not be keen but I'm sure they'd be very popular.
