That is absolutely dire. What on earth is going on with that dreadful huge puppet? And I don't know who that is as Belle, but good grief, if I went to a performance and saw that I'd say 'stuff this' and go to the pub. She looks really pretty in the costume but then opens her mouth and this weird overly-soft autotuned sound comes out.
I think Martin Short's effort speaks for itself.

I've seen quite a few clips of this now, with increasing horror.
I quite liked the Be Our Guest staging, but the rest... I'd never heard of H.E.R. before, and won't be rushing out to hear anything else she sings.
The clip of H.E.R. and Josh G singing the title song where Belle suddenly appears at the top of the stairs wearing yellow glasses and playing an electric guitar was very unusual to say the least.

Of all the words that come to mind, the most pressing is... WHY?

I usually love puppets, but the idea to make the Beast a puppet shell with Josh Groban inside is…just baffling. There aren’t any puppeteers to bring the Beast to life outside of Groban, so it’s like a mech-suit - and that means you aren’t emotionally connected to the Beast but rather the human piloting him (also they took ‘the man within the beast’ and made it the most literal interpretation possible).
I saw clips where he wasn’t even in the suit for some scenes, so what was the point?

I was able to stomach the first verse of Be Our Guest before stopping the video. I've liked Martin Short since Second City, but this production itself - uh - no. I used to work for Disney, and know it's all about maximizing profits on each IP, but how many times can the company beat the same horse? There's already been the awful live action film with the barely adequate Emma Watson, plus the stage show in Disney theme parks, plus the Broadway musical, not to mention straight to home video sequels. At least the stage adaptation had strong MT performers to begin with. I suspect, other than Josh Groban and his singing, the others were cast because they were familiar names to one or another part of their target audience. The original animated film was perfect as it was with its great score, book, and casting. I would have happily waited all night for tickets to see Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers, and Angela Lansbury in the supporting roles in a live B&tB, but not these folks.

I like H.E.R's vocals, a mile better than Emma Watson in the live action film, though that's a low bar.
