I've no idea how Twilight ended so maybe that.
50 Shades?
The Hunger Games has been rumoured hasn't it?
They might stay clear of superheroes after Spider-Man?
I guess it depends if the author is dead or alive. Even then I'm not sure those who control the rights would agree. I'm specifically thinking about a Lord of the Rings.
A standalone James Bond could definitely work, if it relied on the tension and espionage, rather than explosions and big set pieces (not that they can't be done in the Theatre but you know). A really clever story could definitely work. I mean I love spy plays but the Bond name could really draw in the tourists, especially in the UK.

Personally, I'd be surprised if Disney wasn't wondering how they could bring Star Wars to the stage. I think Star Wars is one of those properties that works in its medium of film, George Lucas developed a live action TV series but couldn't feasibly achieve it on a television budget. They've had success with Clone Wars and Rebels but that's because they're CG. A Stage production isn't impossible but it's not a story that benefitted from being told on stage.

Tales Of The City. I don't think the musical version from a few years ago went very far but if the essence of those books could be put into a play or show it could be great.
Also Personal Services. The Cynthia Payne story is gagging to be a musical.
Has any of Iain Banks' stuff been done on stage? The Wasp Factory maybe?

There's already a parody of 50 Shades doing the rounds on stage called 49 1/2 Shades of Grey. And I think a parody of that godawful nonsense is the only way to bring this on stage.
There was also talk of that Hunger Games live version somewhere in London (in a new purpose-built theatre/arena?) that seems to have died down completely.
I think Star Wars is too CGI-heavy to convince on stage. Although I wouldn't mind them trying. The stage sets/effects were the smallest problem of the Lord of the Rings musical.
On the whole though, I really don't want to see franchises taking over straight plays as well, there have been enough lacklustre "Big Movie - the Musical" adaptations in recent years.

What about a Star Wars spin-off where R2D2 decides to teach a bunch of Ewoks to speak properly by getting them to put on a production of My Fair Lady? I'd go to see that!
