Yes, I have just received information that the Uncovered Opera Company are putting on Verdi's Macbeth on 25th Feb @ 7pm and 26th at 5pm also 4th March @7pm and 5th @ 5pm. Prices are £25 or £15 concessions. I'm not sure how accurate this info is so please check. Hoxton Hall is a charming galleried music hall that has recently been renovated. I'm looking forward to going there.

This was my first ever opera. I remember someone saying it was a poor choice for my initiation as I might never want to see another one. They were right

This was at the ROH a year and a bit ago. And the same company is also putting on a Richard Strauss opera at the place @tallpaul calls Millwall - spoiler: it is - though we might better know it as the 'Canary Wharf area'. So, they're not exactly looking to find missed opportunities in the market. I looked at the company's website: www.uncoveredoperacompany.com/about-3A good read - basically a group of production cover singers keeping their hand in for the love of it. I presume they're happy to cover costs. Community opera at £15 a pop, £12 concessions. A bit like the Arcola summer season ('Grimebourne'), but these shift around

Verdi's Macbeth is looking good. It is sung in Italian but there are surtitles. It's an immersive performance. Not a concert performance not with a full size orchestra but with a fairly decent sized one. I'm looking forward to it. Full details on the website.

Just back from Hoxton Hall. A fine show with a big cast and an orchestra in a small music hall. An immersive production with action amongst the audience. The chorus and orchestra were good and so were the principals. The costumes and scenery was minimal but you must remember that the big opera houses have whole departments working on these items. Sung in Italian with English surtitles shown on the back of the stage. A good night out.
