Saw this tonight. Beautiful sung and acted (for once), but crap direction and set (except Act 2, that had an alright set). So not only have Anish Kapoor a bad audience member (see Bad Behaviour thread) he ain't a good designer either. Orchestra sounded glorious but drowned out the voices too often. Direction was a little too bit ROH for my liking.
Anyone else seen it?

I may see it later in the run if I can get a good deal but at the moment I'm boycotting it as I found Kapoor's comments so disgraceful!
Very mixed reports on twitter although some people loved it. The director is Daniel Kramer, the incoming ENO artistic director, so this doesn't seem promising!

Judging by the reviews & production pictures I'll be waiting for the Radio 3 broadcast that apparently will be happening later. I find a lot of ENO's productions are safer on the radio!

Just noticed that the Evening Standard's editorial today includes praise for Anish Kapoor's design for Tristan and Isolde along with plea to ensue survival of ENO.
