Alex Gaumond and Damian Humbley together at Funny Girl last performance tonight. Wonder if the tour casting is done yet. I middle-aged-woman fan-girled to Damian Humbley about Lend Me A Tenor in the interval (he was standing on his own). Said how much I loved it and he seemed delighted. Didn't mention the mug, soundtrack or signed poster cos I didn't want to scare him (and I was blushing profusely) Oh my goodness, I thought that was me you were talking about for a second. Then I remembered I wasn't at the theatre tonight...

Peter Capaldi at The Entertainer last Monday.
I resisted the temptation to yell Malcolm Tucker style expletives at him.

I would definitely suggest joining the Audience Club (although there is normally a short waiting list). Its discussed here- theatreboard.co.uk/post/52511/threadYou normally get 2 tickets, but there is an option to 'upgrade' to get 4 tickets for some productions I believe.

Someone mentioned to me recently that they found their first room in London through Airbnb. Might be worth a look to get something temporary to start with.

Have you seen the Royal Albert Hall version of Only Remembered?
Love those horses.

Correction: Peppa Pig as Hedda Gabler. How on earth did Peppa Pig beat Miss Piggy to that role?

I usually do the British thing of ignoring (whilst quietly staring) at any celebs I see around town.
I would make an exception for Stephen Sondheim though. Indeed, we are not worthy Anthony.
It reminds me of Jenna Russell. In an interview (when she did that Singular Sensations gig at Charing Cross maybe?) she said that she went to an event, where she was seated a few seats away from Stephen Sondheim. As she arrived he called over and said 'Hello Jenna'. She said that it always gives her a warm glow to think that, somewhere in the world, Stephen Sondheim knows who she is.
When I went to the NT Sondheim talk he admonished someone for taking photos. I was sitting near the front and it then actually crossed my mind to try taking a photo, so that he and I could have a conversation as he told me off...Sad but true. Didn't do it, you will be pleased to hear. Pull yourself together woman!

If I remember correctly Caroline Sheen sang a song from this at a cabaret last year. I think she was involved in the workshops. Yes, I seem to remember a whole bunch of West End musical theatre types tweeting pictures of themselves in Vienna when it was being workshopped.

Oh, forgot to mention. If using Holborn tube station, there are only 2 escalators working. Expect a claustrophobic queue from platform to surface until late 2017. Allow at least an extra 15 minutes for your journey. It's a hell-hole. Or at least go and see Floyd Collins first, to get yourself prepared for the tube station.

Someone tried to steal my phone in Brussels a couple of years ago. They dropped it when I immediately realised what had happened and turned on the person I knew had 'bumped into me'. Also, they probably dropped it because it wasn't an expensive phone!
When I reported it they tried to convince me that I had in fact dropped it myself. One way to keep the crime stats low I suppose.
Sadly, I think part of the problem is that thieves simply hone in on visitors in all major cities. I was amazed at how targeted an American friend of mine was whenever we were hanging out together in London (not all outright pickpockets, but by all sorts of people approaching and hassling her).

I already lost one! Luckily I bought two! I pinned it to by bag, and today I realized it wasn't there anymore =( Does that mean that there could be a random non-theatre board person wandering around wearing one of our badges? If we meet anyone wearing one of the badges it may be necessary to ask them some tricky theatre board based questions to test their authenticity..... Good luck with the quiz by the way.

And if they want some ideas to update the book, YouTube is a goldmine. Cats that say 'hello' being a personal favourite.

They phoned me today and asked my age. The woman explained that they were looking for people of certain ages for particular groups, but had omitted to ask people this information initially. As it was I was the wrong age, so didn't get in. So it seems that they are still in the process of filling the groups. You've reminded me of an acquaintance of mine who had a similar return call after applying to participate as one of her family in a televised quiz show. After answering a few questions, she was rejected on the grounds of being racist and bigoted, and her son and brother-in-law were picked instead. She vehemently retorted that she wasn't racist and bigoted and offered as proof her longstanding marriage to an Italian and her frequent prolonged sojourns in Italy where she'd learnt the language. This didn't convince the telephone researcher who stuck with her initial gut reaction. So, I think the research assistant may have been personally assessing you so as to select the focus group according to other criteria than just age. Ha ha. I knew I shouldn't have started the conversation with that racist rant. I'll tone it down next time... No, actually, on this occasion the entire conversation consisted of what I mentioned above (apart from the usual pleasantries), She didn't ask me anything else.

They should copy Wimbledon. At the tennis any returned tickets for the major courts are resold for charity.
If people returned their tickets into a container at the box office on their way out, the tickets for the 2nd half could be resold in return for some money put in a charity box. Assuming its a theatre where the box office stays open?
I do think some people would go and see the 2nd half of some productions, (maybe more likely with a musical perhaps) just to get a taste of a production or to see inside a particular theatre.

Ooh, and forgot to mention, the "snow" is sparkly, too! Of course it is, that's real West End snow. Hate to admit it, but I really want one of these now...

Latecomers should never make anyone move. So disturbing. Sit em at the back til interval. ... blindfolded, and pricked with buddyvic's Pomegranate Pin! Isn't that a line from The Crucible?

We used to eat pomegranates with a pin when I was a schoolgirl. Remember them well. Don't ever remember taking them to the cinema though. Mind you, many years ago, when my dad was a lad, his mother used to take him to the cinema. She always used to take an empty metal biscuit tin to rest her feet on (she was very short and the seats were high), and also used to take peas with her to shell (what can I say, they were greengrocers). Sometimes people used to try and rush past her to reach their seats, and accidently kick the tin, causing a loud crash, and also knocking her off her perch, thus causing the peas and their discarded shells to launch themselves into the surrounding rows. Those were the days!

I saw a woman walking with a stoat (or maybe a weasel?) on a lead last week. If these are upgrades I definitely want one. I'm going to suggest ferret. Weasels are very small, stoats aren't necessarily much bigger, but ferrets are reasonably common pets that are quite happy to go for walks on leads. Ah yes, you are probably correct. I was fishing around in my brain for the correct animal name and those were the ones that came to mind, had forgotten about ferrets (unlike londonmzfitz who probably wishes she could forget about them...)

Oh my gosh how heartbreaking was Lutolo Mohammed's post silver medal interview in the Taekwondo, I was in floods of tears with him. That poor man. He will be reliving it endlessly and wishing he had just stepped back and kept his distance from his opponent for that last second.

Ah bless! (I can say that as I can't be bothered to watch the above clip all the way through).
I am thinking of doing a video on the subject of 'It's okay to enjoy this meal even though it has been poorly reviewed', as in 'What is it?' 'Are you sure?' etc, to which the only response is 'it's healthy, full of nutritious ingredients, and no, I didn't know that supposedly healthy foods can go grey when combined'
Hoping to get a book deal for this concept.
