is it easy to get hold of the previous series of the portrait one? The previous series of the portrait one is repeated on Tuesday at 8 I think. It may be repeated again in the week too.

Gary Barlow has started up his crooner sessions again every Monday , Wednesday and Friday at 5pm on Youtube. The first 2 are here. Rod Stewart and Aloe Black. Gary seems to have the ability to be able to harmonise with pretty much anyone.

I have really enjoyed the artist of the year on Sky arts. Am watching last years portrait one now as missed it due to not having Sky Arts last year. The landscape artist starts tomorrow at 8 on sky Arts and am looking forward to that too.

Elaine was on the radio 2 breakfast show this morning. It all sounds great. In these times it will be a real boost.

but I'd give anything to have been able to be by his side at, or even near, the end, holding his hand, telling him he was loved. So sorry to hear that and my condolences. There are sadly all too many similar stories such as yours and I truly hope everyone takes heed and acts accordingly. Everyone has their part to play in defeating this dreadful virus from obeying the guidance to having a vaccination once asked.

My parents both had their 2nd doses of the Pfizer vaccination on Wednesday. Quite a few of their friends had their 2nd dose too. It seems doctors were not cancelling pre arranged appointments for 2nd dose and those getting their 1st dose after the change to a 12 week wait would have the 12 week gap. But it may depend on area etc.

Thinking back to I'd do anything I always thought Francesca Jackson was very good. I loved Jodie and was glad she won, but Francesca really sold that song.

For some reason I can't stand this and don't find it funny at all. Some of it may be the way it is filmed. I usually love Michael and David in whatever they do but have tried the 2nd series after giving up on the first. Oh well I suppose we do all have different senses of humour.

I also have every respect for the NHS, scientists who have developed vaccines and particularly those working in ICU dealing with the hard end of COVID. There are many others who have done exceptional work during this time. Those working with mental illness, handicapped, food banks, police, armed forces.... the list goes on. So I guess the new clap is for all those. This last year many have gone over and above their normal jobs or lives, particularly those who have put their own lives on the line whilst going about their daily lives to help others.

Thought it may be useful to put in a couple of definitions of the word hero:
A person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
A hero is a real person or a main fictional character who, in the face of danger, combats adversity through feats of ingenuity, courage or strength. Like other formerly solely gender-specific terms, hero is often used to refer to any gender, though heroine only refers to female. The original hero type of classical epics did such things for the sake of glory and honour. On the other hand, are post-classical and modern heroes, who perform great deeds or selfless acts for the common good instead of the classical goal of wealth, pride, and fame. The antonym of a hero is a villain. Other terms associated with the concept of a hero, may include "good guy" or "white hat".
I think using the word hero may not have been the best idea for the clapping, but if it was going to be reintroduced then another phrase was going to have to be used. It will be different this time as at 8pm it will be dark and freezing! Not sure if it will affect morale. It may be a chance to see a few neighbours and engage in a group activity. I suspect a lot of people will be doing it just to save face though.
