It’s a majority UK team and there’s an audience for it here. Whilst I don't necessarily disagree with you BVM, something in me says that Americans would relate to religious evangelism and TV evangelism, more that we would over here in the UK. And it's my understanding that the height of Tammy Faye Baker's fame was in the late 80's, which is not that long ago for people to forget. There was also that recent Jessica Chastain film about Tammy Faye Baker that she won the Academy Award for. So, whilst she may not have been coming into people home via television like she used to - I do realise that she has passed on- although everyone from that time has moved on, the memory is still there.

Hasn’t this one been seen plenty over the last few years though? It’s done two national tours. More than enough for something as decidedly average as this. Although that's not exactly a harsh criticism, the show does have a novelty factor about it In terms of the stage show (not the concert) I do wonder how significantly different this is to what was seen on Broadway? Cause in Bebe Neworth and Nathan Lane, you had some pretty big Broadway names!

I recently purchased a cheap ticket caught a matinee of Brokeback Mountain, towards the end of its run.
At the end of the performance there was quite a large crowd at the stage door.
Lucas Hedges came out and very politely took the time to speak with people, sign various programmes, etc and take selfies.
When he go to me he was quite taken aback at the fact that I did not have a programme to sign or want a selfie to be taken I simply shook his hand, complimented him on a sensitive and nuanced performance and wished him a safe flight home.
Whilst I appreciate that he was here to work, I also recommended that he enjoy what he can of the city whilst here.
As I say, not only was he taken aback, he actually seemed quite moved.
Sometimes, it's the little things that have the greatest impact!

Visage and Ramin are interesting casting. Leslie Joseph cannot sing, but I can’t remember whether the granny has any numbers. I’ve blanked it! She only sings a few lines.

I love Tracey Ullman.
I was at an event a couple of months back where Nell Campbell (Little Nell)- Columbia from The Rocky Horror Picture Shoe was doing a talk and at intermission realised that Tracey Ullman was sitting a few rows in front of me.
I went all fanboy and professed my undying love for her " I love you! I know you don't know who I am but I love you! I love your music, your movies and your shows! I know I must seem like a nutter (in hindsight I probably sounded like one) but I'm not. I'm perfectly normal, but I love you!"
She smiled and laughed a little. She asked me my name and allowed me to sit along side her and take a selfie; my eyes were closed.
Both the combination of the talk from Little Nell and meeting Tracey Ullman- I was in a high for a couple of weeks!

In a previous post I made reference to Magic Radio channel- Magic at the Musicals and the interview with Mandy Pantinkin.
However before this, they were speaking with Jenna Russell, about Flowers for Mrs. Harris, her favoutite musical theatre songs, songs from shows that she's been in (Overture for Merrily we Roll Along, The Revolutionary Costume For Today from Grey Gardens), songs that she could listen to forever, etc.
They did play the finale from Flowers for Mrs. Harris.

The Josephs being stripped of their coats by the other contestants was my favourite, especially when Seamus went rogue and changed the lyrics! (Slightly off topic but) do you know one of the Josephs ended up becoming a porn star!

Although I know who this Luke person is, forgive my ignorance however, as he is Welsh, is it fair to say he's much more well known in Wales, than the rest of the UK?
To be cast as Gaston in the Beauty and the Beast remake, he's obviously well known in Hollywood. He was also had a small part as The Coachman in the recent Pinocchio re-make and released a solo CD.

But lets all remember the joy and laughter that he gave us as Chandler. My favourite scene of his was when he went to Joey's tailor and described a rather intimate way he was "cupped". One of my top Friends moments ever. If I recall correctly he said something akin to "Joey, your tailor is a very bad man!" to which shocked, awed and confused Joey replied " I thought that's what tailors always do!"

With his upcoming concerts the Magic Radio channel- Magic at the Musicals interviewed Mandy Pantinkin. Despite his talent, personally I find him a bit hit-and-miss however this it was quite an interesting listen. For anyone interested this was last night from 7-8pm.
He talked about how he got started. He was singing in the choir at his local synagogue in Chicago. He also spoke a little Yiddish when recalling his time there.
The three shows they really focused on and played songs from were Evita- his Broadway debut, Sunday in the Park with George and The Secret Garden. They also played Anyone Can Whistle.
Amongst other things, he mentioned how when he went to Steve’s (Sondheim’s) house there would always be scraps of paper or notepads open on the piano just trying to find the right word to not only rhyme, but to convey the right meaning of the lyric.
They also asked out of his films, television work (Homeland) and stage work/concerts, which did he prefer and he said, now, it’s concerts. He’s a grandfather now and stated that the dialogue between songs is him, and this can change from show to show, picked upped and dropped again. He gave an example how after once show his son said to him, you don’t need to tell that story again.
He also spoke about acting styles/methods but frequently- whether deliberately or co-incidentally- he kept making reference to themes from Sunday in the Park with George; things like moving on and making a connection and how important that is. He discussed the song Beautiful and how George almost makes the connection with his mother, but this fails.
Surprisingly, he actually said this concert would not be a Sondheim concert; that a whole other concert. However I think, given his association with Sondheim and his involvement with his shows, it seems pretty difficult to not sing one or two.

I didn't like that Addams Family routine.
We had Wednesday, Morticia and Gomez with a CGI Things.
Where was Pugsley, Uncle Fester and Grandmama?
I just knew not only that Zara would go, but there's be some sort of teary speech, spoken through sobs.

Must admit I never truly got the hype on Kerry. Saw her a good few times in during the Wicked 'golden days' but always preferred the likes of Alexia Khadime and Rachel Tucker as Elphaba. She was good as Nancy in Oliver!, but much to my surprise I found that Jodie Prenger left a far greater impression. I concur wholeheartedly!

Bobby being the current favorite to win feels absurd to me. He's yet to show anything other than very average dance ability. Tyler West was a far better partner for Diane last year and undeservedly went out too early. I agree completely!

Some initial thoughts.
Costumes, hair and make-up- Score 10! I thought all four judges and the celebrities and the professionals all looked sensational!
For me the best line of the evening- Vito "What is goosebump?"
Given that they were down a contestant without Amanda, anyone else notice how the VT's were just that little bit longer, as were the discussions with Claudia?
(Again) for me the best graphic was the swan at the beginning of Angela's swan lake routine with Carlos. BTW loved the routine!
Kai is such a gentleman with Angela.
You can tell when the judges love a routine by how much they gush in their comments.
If I were a gambling man, I'd be putting Zara and Annabelle in the dance off.

I not really a fan but have seen him twice at the O2.
(There's really no nice way of saying this but) he's so old that he really doesn't move too much. He's like a mannequin stick man.Yet, despite his age his voice is still good and on both occasions, that arena was full!
It was pretty much the same show and he always ends on Copacabana.

An update. This went ahead as planned last night.
Quite an impressive turn out! At a guestimate I'd say about 60+ people.
I actually joined a group who I recognised from last month. Very friendly people.
They came last when it was held last month but with my input we came third!

I walked past it today. I was just part of the route that I was taking.
It looks very sad and forlorn.

I just hope they do the original score. Keep Ashley , Keep Belle, Keep Only You. The Australian production staged in sports arenas and a traveling tent was stunning. I saw that production. And the poster was of Electra, but had a very futuristic feel about it.

From my observations of similar circumstances, each time a 'name' is announced, another wave of tickets get sold.

Love him or loathe his, I don't think people recognise what a prolific songwriter Barry Manilow is.
