Hmmm. From the trailer I wouldn’t say his voice suits these songs either.

Lady’s Maid in Titanic. I don’t mind it on the soundtrack but the I’ve never enjoyed it in the show.

I adore Andrew Lloyd Webber for so many of his amazing songs. That I GOT ME new song melody is the most annoying horrible repetitive tune I’ve ever heard in my life. To think that replaced A Lotta Locomotion makes me want to set myself on fire and throw myself on a train track in protest! Arggghhhhhh!!! Yeah I didn’t love it at the Workshop, especially for 987th reprise. It doesn’t make sense for Dinah to sing I Got Me at the beginning of the show. She should have her I Got Me moment after U.N.C.O.U.P.L.E.D. Frankly I would prefer it to be Girls Rolling Stock with new female empowerment lyrics but if I Got Me had to be in the show it should be there. A Lotta Locomotion should be the girls’ introduction, albeit with new orchestrations and new lyrics. It gives them a proper introduction rather than a really short one followed by a song which can stand alone from the show. I will wait until it’s out of previews though before judging fully.

Yeah. Dinah’s always brunette in my head because of Frances.

That’s not a Megamix; it’s a medley.
Anyway, it’s so disjointed. The other one flowed so well. I wanted the Megamix redone but that is a bit of a mess.

What kind of car is Belle and what kind of car is Carrie? Which is the old Ashley costume with glasses on the head (and why are the glasses there)? Thanks. The old Ashley costume is Belle and she’s a Bar Car (hence the glasses). Carrie is a Luggage Car. Seems odd. I’ve never heard of a Bar Car, but have heard of a Sleeping Car. Just recreate the original (London) Belle costume. The glasses on the head remind me of the Pop Tarts Duvay had on her head (not quite as bad though).

Anyone know what is said in Hollywood here: The Terminator’s back, Beetlejuice, ?, they’re all hard at work . . .

My favourite Britain's Got Talent scandal was when the winner was revealed to have been using a stunt dog, and people were furious that they'd been lied to, rather than impressed that she'd managed to train *two* dogs to perform acrobatic feats. (I don't expect either dog planned out their own routine either...) I don’t like the dog routines in general.

Personally,I just think it should be up to the individual celebrities. It was a shame the backlash Susan Calman got last year for dancing with a man, even though that’s what she wanted.
I worry that once someone does dance with a same sex partner, the backlash against future gay contestants wanting to dance with someone of the opposite sex will be multiplied.
As I said though, if someone does feel strongly that they want to dance with someone of the same sex then they should be able to.

I’ve always wanted Anneka Rice to do Strictly - I’m not sure if she could match Debbie though. I’m happy to be proved wrong. (Sidenote: I always thought Anneka was Swedish.)
Now to try and find that poll.

Sian Nathaniel-James has returned to the cast in place of Samira. Funny how the producers keep relying on the old cast to fill in, like Jocasta. Wait, when did they get Jocasta back?

Who?🤷♀️ Surely this is the Dancing on Ice list? Maya Jama is a rising star and has a young fan base so would be a good choice. Coleen Rooney is well known and Abbey Clancy won it so a WAG could be used again. But with a young baby would she want or need the hassle. Joey Essex could he remember the moves, would be fun to watch and very entertaining Les Dennis again well known, has a Panto lined up but they can work that as he'd unlikely get to last few weeks. Rachel Shenton won the Oscar and was a soapstar, provides younger female element so again very possible. Piers Morgan would he do it for the rumoured flat fee, would be great to watch him and Craig go at it. Would need a strong minded female pro to keep him in check. Dan Walker well known BBC guy, very tall so would likely be good at ballroom, if he was up for it, certain to be signed up. Michelle Keegan her husband did it 4 years back, has been rumoured to be doing it for years. Shied away from these type of shows after leaving Corrie, may be up for the challenge but could make several times that doing the Jungle. Cheryl if she wanted to do it, would be no brainer inclusion Gemma Collins would she be able to take the training regime? But can do the splits so musty be flexible. Each year or every couple of years the show has a "larger woman" so why not use GC. Again the right partner would be crucial, someone who really got on her back and she may walk, a more sympathetic one and they could be fun. Nadiya Hussain Don't think they have had a Muslim woman as a contestant before, not sure about bloke off the top of my head. Again she is well known and would be a good choice as regards diversity. How they would incorporate her head wrap into costumes would be fun too. But might she get a backlash for doing the more sensual dances with a male pro?
I’d love Nadiya to do it and I think they’ve toned dances down before to suit certain people. If I remember correctly, there were lots of comments about Cherie Lunghi’s Rumba for being respectful for her age or something. Of course it’s different and it can be done. They also can leave out one dance can’t they?! I was wondering if it would be OK for Nadiya to wear wigs as it wouldn’t be her hair we were seeing. If not they could go for Norma Desmond/Jennifer Saunders style turbans.

Did anyone else think this had the potential to be a film musical? The songs could be amazing on the big screen. The plot, possibly, but not this version of it.

It needs to be decreasing the number of couples, not increasing them.
I’m sad Chloe’s gone without having a ‘proper’ partner. I think I’d like to see Neil with a partner (if he wants that) but I don’t want double the Katya choreography.

The BBC is usually a reliable source, and the local news has reported that the original cast will not be appearing in the film. Not sure if that is everyone, or just the school 'children'. Shooting starts May 2019. jamiefilmcasting.com Hmmm. That’s a shame (maybe). We’ll see who they do cast.

Great to hear another positive review anthem . I’ve only seen Chess once before (CRH) and compared with that I thought the story was totally cohesive. I think the whole “book” issue with Chess seems to hav3 become a self fulfilling prophecy. I’ve seen many musicals where the book was less satisfying than this and little comment is ever passed. I thought the huge screens were an inspirational choice for this venue. It was like watching a musical in IMAX. Yes you could be distracted if you CHOSE to look at them instead of the actors and from the front row i even looked at them myself a few times. I suspect they were very much appreciated from some of the highest seats. If they hadn’t done the video, with this design, people would hav3 complained at not seeing the action. I think if people can’t just listen to a beautiful piece of music played by an amazing orchestra while the actors re-enact a chess game for perfectly valid dramatic reasons for literally 2 minutes then that’s a shame. Go see Motown, it will be more to their taste (and attention span) 🙂 How very condescending. People on an opinion board in having differing opinions shocker; no need for the tone.

A film too!!
I hope it’ll be good. They really should use the original cast in the film if they can. I don’t want star casting thank you - I guess maybe the Drag Queens could be ‘names.’
