Have seen all other major U.K. Productions over the years After seeing sell a doors fab avenue q last year was looking forward to this Much the same scale and quality of last years Q it doesn't disappoint. The 3 girls are sublime ..... and all performers give 100% Some slightly different character interpretations of Audrey and also Seymour ....didn't mind most of them .. and also Audrey's outfits are too nice one joke falls flat ..... but all in all a great production that fits well into smaller theatre I saw it in maybe look a little lost in larger venues Was no animation during swtg?? So maybe it's been dropped but I think it was in the movie ? A really enjoyable night out and some great ticket offers on line too I'm sure they are selling the Su pollard cast recording £15 Merchandise quite £££

Saw the original production 7 times and the tour by fiery Angel ? In 2004 . And the Brixton production which I enjoyed too wasn't sure about some of the changes though ... Was such a shame the USA production didn't. Do better I've always thought it would be good idea to take the best of the U.K. And USA production and write a new version Luke evens and Declan Bennett have gone on to huge things since the original production .
Was gutted there was no dvd of the USA production but are some nice clips on you tube
It's truly a great show with beautiful songs and deserves a full scale production mind you loved the London production s that made it feel you really were walking into a nightclub

She was touring with her brother this month and playing my local town hall tonight but alas it's cancelled any one know why ? Are all the dates cancelled ? ? That's a shame. I saw a cabaret with them both at the St James Theatre last year (I think) and it was a really enjoyable night. Both are such terrific performers. I think it was the same show they were touring shame was looking forward to it ...

Saw this tonight. Lisa Maxwell had moments of brilliance. The characterisation was mainly good and occasionally stunning, but not sustained. It also veered into caricature several times, with the face pulling. Regarding her voice, I don't know if tonight was an off night but she could not hold the last note of any of the big numbers, leaving the music playing and the audience wondering when to start their applause. Sam Attwater, pretty good but lost the accent several times. Gary Wilmot. Might as well have been watching paint dry. Not surprised she snubs his proposal. As a piece of drama I enjoyed it, and can imagine how brilliant it might be with a great cast. The story is heart wrenching, abuse and self abuse. So sad. Someone should get Tracie Bennett to do it as a TV drama (with music!). Footnote: Lisa's wig was absolutely terrible. Her voice was that weak when I saw her in Coventry at start of the tour ... And agree goes into a caricature too easily. For me it was just Lisa maxwell comedy impressionist doing judy .... It is a good play and when done correctly like it was Couple of years back its stunning ... I've never been so excited about a new production of a show I've loved before then so disappointed afterwards lol .... I too was suprised how bland Gary wilmott was ...

Totally agree drowsey chaperone I loved really great show ... Another was the goodbye girl ... Still went on to a very successful tour Flops aren't necessarily bad, they can just be not popular. Some of the best things I've seen had very short, unsuccesful, runs. I always feel appreciative that writers/producers continue to take chances - even when they don't always become hits. Yes, absolutely agree with this!! The Drowsy Chaperone is one of my all-time favourite musicals - but it was an absolute massive flop. I loved Lend Me A Tenor so much I saw it twice in a week. MASSIVE flop. I also adored The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. MASSIVE FLOP. On the other hand, I really didn't like Bend It Like Beckham, but that ran for longer than any others I mentioned above. Just personal taste - always crap when a great show closes, though!

I saw the original production 5 times and the tour and the water mill production .... Which I did enjoy and in that production at last appreciated the Betty and Joe songs ... Katherine evens was fantastic ...... But I agree saw it Saturday and could quite happily sit through it all again ... Glenn is just riveting to watch ... A master class ....

It is a great play I loved glorious too .... But after seeing this in Coventry sadly not suprised its cut short. ... It was ok ... Lisa maxwell worked hard but after seeing Tracy Bennett and Hilton InThe previous production sadly this was like a poor cousin

One thing that did annoy me tonight was the audience applauding before the end of the last note ..... Does it happen most nights ? It always seemed to start in the same section of the theatre ? W o l. & n s g bye esp annoying waiting with bated breath she certainly went for it tonight but then was drowned out by applause ?

Just out of tonight's performance I saw the original production back in the day and secretly did hanker a little for the original set .... Saying that I did love the staging tonight and all the little touches loved the film images and the end screen ... I got the youngNorma esp liked her during perfect year ..... Have they changed the body ? Because tonight it just floated down from the roof and away as Joe sank to the bottom of the pool ? I thought it worked well ....... No weak performances tonight lovely to see miss Dillon finally getting the recognition she deserves. Huge ovations tonight ... Glen close was fantastic a master class of acting you are aware as she walks on you are about to witness something really special ..... Yes I've seen stronger singers but never a better whole package ..... For £31 row j upper circle we had a great view didn't miss anything and could still see expressions .... May be 5 rows closer would have been even better but £20 more each ?? It's down to personal choice and bank balance ..... After tonight I would go again and maybe find the £20

I know this has probably been talked about before but any advice on tickets and seats would be appreciated as never been to this theatre before really want to see sunset but have not got a huge budget ? Did just read that although very high the balcony gives good view rather that upper circle ? Any tips on getting cheap ticket with an OK view ? ?

Made it to opening night .... Few very subtle changes to the other tour but not much you would notice really ? Unless anyone knows differently ? Cam Mac was making so much about new special effects and magic ? First half was ruined from where we were sat due to latecomers , sucking last remains of drink through a straw during feed the birds ! Constant loud talking and phone lighting up ! I agree a few scenes seemed to drag I don't remember thinking that last time ... Wasn't keen on mr banks at all Mrs banks was excellent as was Mrs brill and the lad who played Michael was very good too ... The sets. And dancing and of course the flying at the end saved it all .... Second half audience were more respectful and quiet which helped us at least enjoy the second half

Hi guys thanks for comments yep prices are going higher and higher ... Lots of theatres do tend to use travel zoo but i think depends on the production ... Malver theatre do day seats which is good but last couple of years have done a membership fee of £25 a year but then u get 2 tickets for each production on the day between £10 -£16 which is pretty good

Just asking if anyone knows if there's ever offer tickets on this tour ? Cheapest tickets in Birmingham are about £40 back row .... Anything near front is £55 -£60 Which unfortunately out prices al lot of us .... Interestingly looking at hippodrome website for some performances it's only half or 3/4 full .... Surely the cast would rather perform to a full house than look at rows of empty seats ... ? And the producers get more money even if offer them at £25 ? What do people think
