Hmm... Tim Driesen, Kyle Dean Massey and Aaron Tveit are performers I would travel for. I do agree the beard was not so great ukpuppetboy

The Cirque website has videos up for all their shows. You might want to check those and see what you like most. I saw O and it is really beautiful.

Saturday at Jesus Christ Superstar in Amsterdam. The lady 1 seat over had been in an amateur production at some point and felt the need to tell her companions what the exact differences were in staging, clothes and singing. I decided to say something at the interval but obviously they came back 5 minutes late. The guy next to me finally understood my death stares somehwere around The Crucifixion and just grinned stupidly shrugged his shoulders and asked her who the guy on the right of the stage was supposed to be.

I actually know quite a few people who did not go to Pippin because there were no surtitles. And not only the older people.
Priscilla did pretty well but not sure if it is time already to have it back.

They had the English Priscilla tour not long ago so am not expecting that. With the return of JCS this Christmas they did it would be a while before it will return.
I do think Book of Mormon would be an option. It is a big name known by not musical fans too. I am really curious what is going to happen as Pippin did not run very well so they really have to come up with something bigger this time

My first reaction when I heard this news was NO!! And that has not changed. I do think that the lyrics can be translated. Specially as Lin Manuel Miranda made a whole book full of notes what the meaning behind the lyrics are. But I am convinced they will not put the right person(s) on translating and it will be a mess. Things will get lost that make the songs interesting to listen to. So I keep hoping they will decide not to do it and have the American tour in Carré for 3 months.

Not much to add there.
I really liked Callum Howells and Katherine Kingsley was more of a female presence than Scarlett Strallen.
There were some points that I felt the stage was really crowded and it looked a bit messy and I experienced a lot of distraction when they were moving around the set behind the scenes. I do think this had more to do with being on row A though so am curious how the others experienced that.

I enjoy seeing the person behind the performer a bit on twitter. If I find I do not agree with their personal opinions I unfollow them.

Got tickets for the first preview. Payed 35 for Assassins (not preview) too so was not much surprised by the price.

We got I11/12 tickets for November but did not receive a seat change (yet?). Curious what is behind this. On the website they still say seat plan has not been finalized but cannot find these seats for sale anymore on different dates.

What date were you booked for? I had a look and haven't had one yet for mid June. Bit of a strange thing to do, they are admitting they are in a difficult position, I've been to many shows where the understudy is on and you just get a note in the programme or something, no big warning email. I wonder what will happen though, as they set a marker in giving tickets when she was off before I do not find it strange that they announce the understudy will be on for (probably) the next 4 weeks. I can imagine people accept the understudy one night due to illness but if you get to the theatre thinking to see Sheridan Smith and get told it was announced three weeks ago she would not be on for a longer period there might be a lot of people being pissed off about not being informed. People are weird like that ?

If Stage is not planning to bring back this production soon they will probably allow a booking with their name hanging on there somewhere if a theatre wants it on their programm.

I do hope they can keep it up for a while as I probably wont make it to London before November and hope to catch it.

Got stuck on a seat in the middle of a company outing. Free ticket people who did not have a clue what they were going to see googling wildly around the internet for the first 20 minutes of the show and informing the whole first 4 rows in the theatre about who was supposed to be on (they got that wrong) what time the show would end (close) and that they would have snacks at the interval.

Having recently seen the London production I'm intrigued to know, how much of the show is actually sung live as from here I was sat it defiantly wasn't 100%? What gave you his idea? It is supposed to be live 100% so am curious. I once had a Frankie Valli who clearly had back up from back stage but I recognized the voice of the understudy in there. But can imagine that gives someone the idea it is not live.

Shows I really want to see I will book no matter what the reviews say. I can be tempted though to go and see a show I was not planning to see based on reviews. Reviews on uderstudies can trigger a second visit to a show when the person is om. Specially when the reviews are not positive.

I always feel sorry for those people that happily sit on their stalls row 7 seats only to find out they are supposed to be in the circle. Always imagine them just finishing the conversation how great the seats are for the price they paid when I show up with my ticket.

Call me shallow but frankly I'm only interested in the bits when Aaron Tveit is thrusting his hips. The more suggestively the better. Truth!! And I was curious if his hair would be out of place at some point.

Woman next to us at Fatal Attraction(Netherlands) took out her phone every 10 minutes. We first tried to sigh her but eventually had to stare her down with two of us before she understood how annoying it was. Behind us a woman was constantly explaining her husband how to interpret things happening on stage.
