Called yesterday and the lady said she started the refund proces and a mail would be send and money would be refunded to my paypal. But did not receive a mail. As I see all these different stories and I have to call from overseas I will wait a bit longer but would love to hear from people if they (did) get the mail or money.

I occasionally move seats but always asking with an usher if it is ok. I did get into a fight once when the usher told me I could take the free seat and someone else wantes to upgrade herself too and tried to sit herself down. The usher came to solve that problem though and she got very uoset with me. There is one theatre here where they always sell all areas and always have to close of areas and replace people. I often buy a cheaper ticket there in an area that I never experienced as open and always get an upgrade to a much better seat. As long as they do that I will use this option.

Yes... a few times. You go see a new show in town, dislike it.. and 4 months later one of your favourite actors is going on for the main part for which he was the 6th understudy... *sigh*

So what happens if you need a wee half way through? You are allowed to leave the auditorium but not allowed to return.

Hope they've got good soundproofing! Some plane noise will add to the experience 😉

I understand the location. They need to build the stage and theater and will have to store a plane somewhere. I guess that was the most convenient spot they could find. I do not think it is a good spot to attract audiences though.
I am very curious how the audiences will react. The experience of the theatre setting does a lot for this musical and I do tell people who ask me if they can go to this show even if they do not like musical much that the experience alone is worth it. But I am not sure either if this show will work outside the Netherlands.

The most succesful Dutch musical announced today they found a location in London to build the theatre they need for this show. www.soldaatvanoranje.nl/londenSoldier of Orange tells the story of Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema, a student during the German occupation in the Netherlands. Confronted with the choice to fight or flight he and his friends have to decide what they want. The story is based on a book written by Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema and has been made into movie in 1977. The show premiered on the 30th of October 2010 in the Netherlands and is the longest running production. Jeremy Brock is added to the original production team to help with the translation of the script. At the end of 2019 they will start building the theatre on the Royal Docks. The opening is currently planned for autumn 2020. Am very curious how this show will be in English and what the audience will think of it.

I usually check booking.com and trivago.com depending on the company I will travel with and up to now we have been lucky. I think I enjoyed the Arosfa hotel in Gower street the most. I was by myself and the 1 person room was halfway the stairs. They used the space very well and the breakfast was good. I like to be able to have easy and quick access to central London.

I enjoy visiting the stage door and hunt for autographs (if I have visited a show) I do have a few actors I have seen more often and I do bring gifts to some. Usually stuff from my country as they seem to enjoy that. I even had an actor sending me a message once, when I send him a tweet I enjoyed the show, why I was not at the stage door after the show as he would have loved to catch up. I do love watching maddness at the stage door too.

I brought water on Friday and they said nothing. Was in the balcony and the sound was horrible. Could not hear the words when two or more people were singing. That orchestra though!!

I bet that a tourist walking into the box office and being offered a £150 seat, isn't even aware that this isn't a norm - especially when they're not familiar with exchange rates. I mean, I can easily calculate Euro vs Pounds vs Dollar in my head at this stage, but if I'm going to a new country whose currency I'm not familiar with, it gets a lot more complicated and I've found myself thinking "what the hell have I just spend?" more than once. I also have no real yardstick to measure if I'm being way overcharged for, say, a taxi ride or not, because I have no idea how much locals pay (and how it balances against their income). Went to the Ferryman box office yesterday to get some information about the day seat line and the guy was trying to scare me into buying full price tickets in the back. Arguments that they are closing and it is crazy busy and there is such a small change but if you pay more .. I can imagine people will panic buy tickets.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm very happy The Duchess has had the baby safely, but it's nowt that women across the world don't do every day. However, ITV have rolling coverage and they have cancelled Tipping point ffs. Move on there is nothing to see. Philip is my nomination though I always feel sorry for her that she has to show up outside with the baby just a few hours after giving labour being all groomed and pretty. Philip fits well with the other names.

Jersey Boys.. Bob Gaudio explaining the differences between fans of the UK music that was taking over the US and their fans, forgot his lines. Trying to remember the names of thr groups he came up with institutionalized people. He still sometimes mentions it.

I'm interested in how the non English language countries show them, are they done with subtitles? If so, are they done live (I expect not in wildly different time zones) or do they wait to add on subtitles? We had English subtitles here in the Netherlands. They do have a slight delay but I do think they are pre done. There were a few small differences in spoken text. Sound in our cinema was good! It was quite full too. I was happy this gave me the chance to see the show too.

This is funny. We are on a holiday resort and in the animation team there is this good looking lady who would love to be a dancer on shows but she has a few tattoos including a huge one on her leg and one circling her belly. My partner and I were discussing her chances to get a part somewhere and I told him they would be a problem if they could get an equally pretty girl without the paintings.

That is curious because we have a fairly small producer staging it here in the Netherlands this year.

Amsterdam concert was cancelled today. For "logistical reasons". According to someone in the Dutch musical forum only 2/3 of tickets were sold..... I guess being lined up against Celine Dion did not help much with ticket sales. There were around 400 seats sold and Carré has 1750.

Sat first row balcony at a show last night (in Utrecht NL) 5 seats over a family of 5 with 3 boys aged 8 to 12. Before the start of the show they were jumping and slamming their seat all the time. I was hoping they would stop doing it when the show started but unfortunately not. They were just to far out of reach to make a comment too and there was no interval. Really annoying.

And the casting for Emilio is announced too. That part is going to Jim Bakkum. This blond haired blue eyed boy could not look more Latin. (for pictures Jim Bakkum speelt Emilio Estefan )

I do wonder if it is a "British" thing or more universal? It is universal. I work in IT on the technical side and on our floor there is 1 woman (me) and 16 guys and 2 toilets. Before one of those was for me 😈 and the guys had to share theirs. That caused great traffic jams there and eventually it was decided that both toilets would be unisex. But only one has a bin. So there are times that I need that specific toilet. The general looks I get when I turn around because that toilet is taken and the faces I get when they realize why could make a nice picture collage.
