Very late to the party.
Saw this first preview and was not too impressed. Need to see it again though. Felt at that point too much like the 2012 show.
What are other peoples thoughts now has been running a while?
Also its cinema showing is in April, with Timon in november

Apologies if there is a thread already but I couldnt find one.
I vaguely remember there was a whole thing around production pics and crediting the full artistic team (which is now done widely).
Found on Facebook this morning an RSC one for King John with Arthur and Hubert. Where Arthur was simply "Child Actor" with no mention of the name of the actor. To be fair is first time I've seen this but hope isn't a trend
Also dislike it when they only name the main actors and not the other people on the captions. Would also like it if they said the parts they're playing.
Moaning over.

Very jealous of those of you who had a stress free time. I was about 1700 (not great but not terrible) though only about 20 minutes to get in - but all went tits up at 9am. Whilst trying to access my basket which had about 6 tickets in it I was put into a queue for 'An Evening with Private Eye' for which booking was due to open in 30 minutes. Going back I could seemingly get into the seating plans - but any attempt to buy put me back in the Private Eye queue. Then a myriad of error messages, then just a blank screen with the NT logo. After much refreshing things got back on track - though payment wasn't easy with an error message saying unable to process at the same time as the email confirmation. Whether a technical glitch or bad planning (two priorities events booking on the same day) or a mixture of both - who knows - though the National has previous!! So about an hour for me before I'd actually booked what I wanted, with a bit too much drama and tension for this time of day. I got the same with Private Eye, was nearly throwing laptop out window at that point.

Arrrggghh, did get Seven Streams and Brilliant Friend but oh what a stress.
Was 2111 in the queue, which went down in 30 mins or so. But froze on the queues for individual performances, so lost out on front stalls for Brilliant Friend, but ended up with back row of Circle for that and decided on second price band for Ota.
Payment though was a nightmare, kept coming up with error messages and freezing. Eventually got there.
Very pleased with what I got though.

Presume you mean you have theatre tokens? If so you MIGHT be able to phone the box office and buy a National Theatre gift voucher with them, which you could then use to book online. No harm in asking! Thank you Xanderl that worked absolutely fine, they added it to the existing credit. Doesnt mean Ill get the tickets I want but at least means I've got the credit to do it online

Thank you all for your help.
Another quick question, and probably a dumb one but hey ho. I have a theatre voucher, can the box office add this as a credit to the account so I then have it to pay with on thursday over the phone? In readiness for me then using on thursday morning.
I'm thinking probably not but thought I'd ask the theatrical equivalent of Delphi in case.

Never sit in the front row anywhere from choice. At the main RSC it is in my opinion the worst place in the theatre. Not much better in the Swan. You are cramped into a narrow space and have to look at the actors' shoes most of the time. Not a lot of fun in the raised back benches of the swan galleries either. The way they are designed means the front edge can dig into your hamstrings. Better if you’re up in the upper gallery where you’ll just be leaning forward anyway to see the whole stage. Not so much in the first gallery to my mums detriment recently, who had to stand up before the interval from terrible cramp I still remember sitting in the splash zone for David Farr’s Twelfth Night I'm the opposite. The upper gallety back benches are great. I always go for Gallery 2 row b dead centre on an aisle seat. I can sit or stretch my legs and stand

The announcement of the 2020 season must be imminent. The mainhouse offerings pick themselves with only four plays left in the folio other than the second tetralogy which i think Doran will finish the project off with. Casting will be interesting, will there be another ensemble? Am hoping for some good stuff in the Swan. After successfully predicting Middleton in the Sam Wanamaker, Edward II must be due to complete the Marlowe journey. Something rare like Athiests Tragedy perhaps? Anyone out there got any news? Sadly I think you're right about the second tetralogy being left until last (first in order of writing I seem to remember). Love a proper season in the Swan not a play on its own then a couple for the rest of the year.
And please not a repeat of the disaster that was this years summer offering.
Any anniversaries due?

More from the Walliams first folio in the main house, the Swan will focus on his contemporaries such as Lucas and Tate Nearly wet myself at that comment, very good

The running time at the Lowry, bearing in mind there is some spontaneous audience interaction, was Gods finished at 10.15, Heroes at $.45 (from 2.00), and Men at 10.00. neil, it does not feel static at all. There are plenty of projections and animation and every so often he strides round the stage. Thank you Crabtree, now feeling very excited

Oh theatremad, I'm excited for you to see this. In this days of relentless CG films, the spectacle of a man sat in a chair telling stories is beyond refreshing and far far more powerful. The myths certainly get under your skin, and wait for all the different emotions you will feel with the minotaur. I would happily sit through it all again. I love such theatrical marathons - Nickleby, The mysteries and so forth. So nourishing. Thank you Crabtree, I relish marathons like this too. My poor partners moving next week and I told him that I wasn't missing Stephen Fry and I'd be around as much as I could. There is nothing like a good theatrical epic for the soul. Next after this will be My Brilliant Friend

Warning, possibly contentious comment Caught this Saturday, found it contrived, hellishly infuriating and walked out at the interval. Didn't care for a single character and got annoyed by the whole design. I'm confused. I can't tell what you REALLY thought of it. Stop sitting on the fence! Hehe, really

Had a minor rant on Twitter about this.
The only theatre with plays in from September until February will be the Swan, TOP won't even get a second new work festival. And leaving us with the musical in RST.
Turns this winter into a joke for plays. Usually get at least 6 plays over winter period based on last few years, will be a grand total of 3. Is that the tweet where the RSC's response to a complaint about a lack of plays was "Hey we've got a comedy festival though!" Presumably some of this is down to declining subsidy levels, and if I recall correctly it's only comparatively recently that they've had anything at all on over the winter - older RSC hands can no doubt clarify this! But yes, they do seem to be putting a lot of eggs in one basket with The Boy in the Dress. Which as far as I can see has sold very well for matinees and the Christmas week, as you'd expect, but not particularly well outside of that. No idea how that compares with pre-sales for Matilda. It was that one. Im a huge fan of them but the lack of plays this winter has dented my feelings.
