I saw this last week. As a big fan of the original production and I quite enjoyed the last tour when I saw it in Stoke, I had high hopes for the Coliseum production but I was so disappointed. The only saving grace for me was Jenny o’ Leary as the Killer Queen! The sound was terrible and I was in front row but she was glorious! I do prefer her silver tour wig compared to the mop they have given her to wear on her head rn. Lee Mead just looked crazy, wide eyes all the time, it didn’t help me like his Khashoggi or find him funny! The changing of script with Ben Elton’s monologues was horrendous. He really stopped the show with those monologues, it was so monotonous and boring as he basically tries to explain the premise of the show to the audience so we all “get it”. The original production had its faults but I could accept that. This new production just left me cold, and bored!

I think Monique has got the Madagascar U.K. tour that starts October 20th. She has shared a story of it in her Twitter with eye popping emoji and she has said on IG she wouldn’t be around the last week of Six so it kind of fits!

I specifically booked a night for Jenny O’ Leary, she was the main reason I liked the last production. Brenda Edwards just wasn’t a great KQ to me!!

I got rush tickets today on Today Tix for this afternoon. £25 and I had a row J of the stalls, seats 33 & 34. A pretty good view!! I enjoyed the production immensely. I’ve only ever seen the movie with Audrey Hepburn so had nothing to compare it too. I’d rate it 4/5 stars!

I saw this last night. I have previously seen the original London production and the Leicester Curve production. This was like the worst of the three production values wise. I mean there are none really! The score and story is the same and strong as ever but there are some questionable choices in the delivery of that score and the presentation of the show just screams cheap to me. However my friend who came with and has never seen a production of Legally Blonde before loved it so I guess my tastes are just different.

I was there last night and didn’t notice them but I did notice three people being evicted from the show 20 mins before the end for being drunk and disorderly. Enjoyed it but didn’t love it. Not enough story for me, it seemed to be all about making sure as many Cher songs were thrown in as possible

I really loved this afternoon’s performance. Had Georgina as Cinderella and Micheal Hamway as Prince Sebastian and they were pretty excellent. I was also seated in the revolving seats which added to the spectacle for me. I’d love to watch Georgina or even the understudy do the time but wouldn’t rush back for CHF as she isn’t my cup of tea really.

Thinking of making the trip up to Newcastle. It’s years since I was was last at Theatre Royal - availability is limited on the nights I can attend where would people reccomend sitting- rear of Stalls or Rear of Upper Circle? Back of the stalls. The overhang isn’t that bad at all!!

Michael Kent is another one for the original cast who has been brought back. Not sure he’ll pass still for a Nicest Kid but time will tell!!

Can I ask a question about near the ending, does Penny’s mum still come charging along through the stalls and along the front row on to the stage? I have front row booked and not sure whether to warn my OH or not. He is going to hate this as it’s so cheesy but he’s putting up with it for me lol

It was my 3rd ever show on Broadway and I loved it! It wasn’t perfect but the songs were catchy and there was some great acting from TV Carpio as Arachne, reeve carney as Peter Parker and Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane. Patrick Page WAS the Green Goblin and I wish I could have seen it again with him in it!

I can’t wait for this! I can see Lizzy Conolly or Sheridan Smith as Mrs George/Mrs Heron/Ms Norbury. Someone from graduate year as Cady. Maybe Jac Yarrow as Aaron Samuels. Regina and Janis need to be kick ass though. Lizzy and Sheridan are two TOTALLY different casting brackets 😂 I could see Lizzy being funny though, if maybe a little too young. Be easy to age her I think. They manage with the understudies on Broadway who play Cady’s classmates throughout!

Nick McLean is the new Boq from January!!! He used to be at Wicked Day with me back in the early years and always claimed he was going to be the first black male Elphaba. Well he has nearly managed it lol. Good for him!! I’ll be going along to support!!

I’ve booked Cruel Intentions, the 90’s musical. Hope it’s good! Not sure whether to book all the shows I have planned to see or whether I can just turn up on the day. Lots of new theatre, drama and musical for me to see with a few parody and comedy shows thrown in!

why are most of the male cast members just referred to as Brother? They do have individual names! And why is there only 8 of them? There needs to be 11!

I’ve only just got to Sunderland and seen the email saying tonight has been cancelled! Not amused, I was counting on buying a programme today. Might see if the box office is open, and get my refund in person. Damn!!!

When do we expect the full line up of shows to be announced? Made some plans about shows I want to see but dont want to book too much and then miss out on something incredible. Currently the only thing I have definitely booked a ticket for is Lost Voice guy on my first evening as I think he’s hilarious. Going Friday to Sunday towards the end of the festival

And as a side note, wrap up warm in the Empire theatre, it was bloody freezing! I hope this is not a subtle dig at the male cast during the nude scene! It wasn’t but have to say none of the male cast members have anything to worry about 😝

Sorry guys, my phone died and I couldn’t reply back last night. So after 25 mins some music started to play and hippies walked up the side of the stalls and onto the stage standing in a line. Then another hippy came on from the wings and told everyone to leave the stage. Cue another 10 mins of waiting and then the show actually started again with the music but the hippies just walked once from the wings. From what I could gather, the fault was that the house lights in the Empire wouldn’t go off.
All the cast are really good. Jake quickenden was impressive as Berger but I feel like he lacks the manic craziness Berger needs, he is just a little too reserved and controlled for my liking. Daisy as Sheila was gorgeous and o enjoyed her performance. Was very impressed by the girl playing Dionne, she and the Jeanie were my faves! Marcus Collins -pffft. Don’t like him, that’s just a personal thing. Wil actually buy a programme for £2 on Thursday when I return. And as a side note, wrap up warm in the Empire theatre, it was bloody freezing!
