Well i enjoyed tonight’s performance from the leg breaking slip seats in upper circle and apart from a very distracting mobile phone in the 8th seat of the third row of the stalls who was clearly recording it (which I reported at the interval) there appeared to be no Ball-ets or CHF-ets in the audience - the greatest applause appeared to be for the Thenardiers - I admit I gave mr ball a standing ovation for his version of stars which reduced me to tears - in a good way. JOJ looks and sounds exhausted so time Mr Boe put a bit of effort in or they give the perfectly excellent understudies a chance

So my first of five trips tonight and I’m praying that Dawn and Ken from Chester aren’t in Ken has cut her off after a very embarrassing stage door shenanigan last week when Mr Boe was indisposed. I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the used Tena lady pad flung at JOJ for daring to step in. “My Ken didn’t pay £300 for us to watch YOU do it. We like it when Alfie booms and all the words run together, whilst staring dead eyed at an inappropriate area of the stage. We don’t need YOU acting through song and giving a credible vocal performance thank you. Get back to Casualty/Holby City/delete single episode acting job as appropriate”. You are hillarrrrious ...

I've deliberately booked a JOJ show. If he is off and Alfie is on then in all likelihood I won't bother staying. It will be Bayjou. Is that Adam Bayjou’s first show

Just relieved that if she visits again she won’t be anywhere near me from my lofty perch in the upper circle slips ... and I prefer JOJ or Adam Bayou anyway 🤭 She wouldn’t be seen dead in the upper circle slips; she doesn’t even know that there’s an upstairs let alone two levels. She sits down, ( no further back than row D) and Ken gets the drinks in. There was a huge row and many tears when she found out there was no centre aisle at the front of the Gielgud - “he’ll never see me squashed up with all them others. My life is ruined, ruined I tell you! You’re a builder Ken. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!” So my first of five trips tonight and I’m praying that Dawn and Ken from Chester aren’t in

He's in quite a few of them and has one of the best numbers in the show, I Miss The Music. Well, it was one of the best numbers... I was going to book for this in Liverpool next year, but I think I'll have to make the effort to go to Birmingham and see Andy Coxon playing the role instead. I’ve only booked to see Andy Coxon ... if sales are going that badly (thought Manford had a decent following? ) I do hope this isn’t my third cancelled tour this year 😢

Really upset with myself that I didn’t book for this. Do we think this concert may prompt a fully staged version somewhere? Oh I do hope so

Pity would have liked to see this but the prices are too much for me.
Hope it gets on the GiLT list - assuming that is running this year?

Oh my god, these are my personal hell. Yes ‘Rough Dawn’ off of Chester, we know it’s your favourite, we know you’ve seen 53 times, we know that you love Alfie Boe, (mostly from your droopy boobs and slurring)....we know ok? We worked it out. Surely more enjoyment is to be had from the actual thing, than from making sure people know that you are ‘the best’ at liking it? It isn’t ‘just’ yours. Have some self respect woman...and put that tattoo away. Pretty sure Alfie isn’t interested in your ‘o’. Just relieved that if she visits again she won’t be anywhere near me from my lofty perch in the upper circle slips ... and I prefer JOJ or Adam Bayou anyway 🤭

Is there anyone who has been to the concert in the last week who has bought a recent programme (not from the first show or week) to tell me who the 1st cover Javert is now that Simon is no longer with the company. I am curious if they have changed it yet. I would love it to be Earl Carpenter but he has had to ‘double up’ roles anyway so sadly unlikely to be him - lucky for no.2 cover who probably thought he would never get on - tho Leo Roberts is in the cast and he played a mighty fine Javert when I saw him at Queens ... 🤔

Any Indications of an approximate run time including interval - would it be in the region of 2 - 2.5hrs?

You will lose up to a third or more of the stage, and the legroom is nil. Also, people will lean forward into your view. It's cheap for a reason - a way to be in the theatre and hear the show more than anything. I'm really just going to hear JOJ so I can live with that. There is definitely something dodgy going on with the availability though. I've seen loads of slip seats available on different days, then they ALL disappear, then come back if I search again later. One of the dates is Sept 30th, does anyone else see them? O I’ve just checked slip seat availability for 30th September and there are 2 each side of the upper circle so if want them I suggest you get in quick 😀

Just spotted this on Delfont Mackintosh Theatres FB page
Looking for Les Misérables: The Staged Concert tickets?
From tomorrow, there will be 12 standing tickets available for £15 from the Gielgud Theatre box office from 10AM. They’ll be limited to 2 per person and available for that days performances.
See you there!👋

Simon Bowman gone! Earl Carpenter now playing The Bishop of Digne AND Bamatabois? Has Simon ‘gone’ gone or could he be off sick or on holiday?

Saw this last night and thought it was the most passionate interpretation of Evita that I’ve seen. Thought the staging and choreography were outstanding and complemented the simple set. If hope I have opportunity to see it again.
Having seen Superstar in the afternoon it was great to see ALW/Sir Tim brought into the 21st century

Am loving this so far! We've had one extended show stop after 'night of a thousand stars' due to the rain and just made it to the interval when it started again. Fingers crossed we get Act 2 Fingers crossed you saw a whole show

You’ve been luckier than me - I have to plan in a 300 mile round trip as well so I’m usually at the train station as the clock on my iPad flips over to 10:00 and the tickets are already in other people’s baskets (😡) I’m usually trying for a Wednesday matinee and I only want one seat 😭😭 I don't know if it's allowed, but you could ask in this topic if someone would be willing to help you next time. I know I wouldn't mind unless I have to rush for something else that day. Thank you Andrew for the offer - but my trips are usually a bit last minute - which is why TodayTix is so appealing as I can’t get to London in time to queue for dayseats edit: well I could but only by paying stupid rail prices - which cancels out a cheap theatre ticket 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe TodayTix could do the same for Come From Away - the show appears to have a similarly frenetic following and its totally impossible to get a dayseat via TodayTix I think it's a lot easier for CFA. I think there's been only one time I tried that I couldn't get rush. Quick question re the lottery - if the lottery dates shown on the website are now the week AFTER I applied - do I assume I was unsuccessful for the week I applied for?

Looking at ticket prices for this...we are talking £200 for some tickets....has anyone seriously paid anything close to this or is it some kind of warped joke? Certainly not - I’ve paid 17.50 for an end of slip seat in the grand circle times 5 trips - see my link above - best availability is direct through dmt on line

So the above is an example of where 17.50 tix are available - on line to anyone ... the seats are in yellow - and this is either the first or second Saturday night it’s open - I really don’t know what more i can do 🤭 - I’ve said the seats exist and they do so use the delfont mackintosh site not some dodgy agency - tho obviously if you are intent in seeing Alfie boe as JVJ im sure these seats have gone

Go on line - to the delfont mackintosh main site - select the Les Mis concert and then select ‘view your own seats’ there are still loads of grand circle slip seats even in August - obviously there are fewer on fridays and Saturdays

I've sold my ticket for the last Friday performance Face value + fees, no rip-off. Lots of tickets have gone up in different areas, although the prices are very high. The ticket I sold was row C stalls centre at £95 exclusive of fees and the like. There are row C stalls side for midweek matinee at £127.50 before fees. Over £30 more. (mutters darkly, this better be good!) I have fingers crossed that those at 177.50 or 202.50 on say a Monday don’t sell and they suddenly get released as ‘production’ seats - to be honest I would like to see it once from a decent view but not at current prices
