Karl Queensborough is back to play Alexander Hamilton today. There were a lot of covers on for the matinee yesterday, including borrowing previous cast from other shows as mentioned above. I would imagine the announcement of the cancellation didn’t come much after the decision was made that the performance would have to be cancelled.

I heard a rumour it will be west side story next Christmas. I wonder if it will be the Curve production - I had heard it was supposed to go to Leeds in 2020 but Covid put a stop to it.

If you’re going to be travelling from Gatwick directly to Wembley, you don’t want to get a Gatwick Express train, as they only go to Victoria and then it’s a bit of hassle to get down to the tube if you have any heavy bags/cases (to be honest I would advise never getting the Gatwick Express as it’s really not that much quicker than the Southern or Thameslink services for a quite a bit more money). If you’re wanting to go directly to Wembley from the airport, as has previously been mentioned, a Thameslink train to Farringdon and then changing to the Metropolitan line is the easiest option.
To add, if you are unable to get Oyster cards at Gatwick, you could buy paper Travelcards or use contactless cards, and then sort out the Oyster cards for the remaining days of your trip once your in London proper. And yes, you can use Oyster on any train services between Gatwick and London.

Thanks once again for the reply and useful information. This is turning into a bit of..hassle to say the least. Well, to be honest, i was as the strike days do not fall going out...im thinking of 'risking it' re the Thameslink. Recommendation is not to travel between 13th and over xmas....but, with you knowing London, do you think will be ok re gatwick -getting into London? Possible reduced service, bit more of a waiting time perhaps. But overall, do-able? Basically, i sense Wembley is some distance from Gatwick...so long as can get into central London should we be ok. Not impossible regardless of whatever 'strikes' are thrown at us. I hear Tubes strikes voted to carry on...hopefully not over before xmas...else i would assume that would be a total distaster! Even on rail strike days, there will be both Thameslink and Southern trains between Gatwick and London. On strike days, there will be a reduced service but there are still plenty of trains, and they start later (not before 07:00) and finish early (usually between 17:30 and 18:00). The only days with no Thameslink trains running are Christmas Day and Boxing Day. (I commute from Gatwick to London)

I prefer the new cast to the original cast! Does Jamie do all 8 shows each week or does he have a show off Like Melissa? He does all 8 shows (obviously barring illness etc)

I don't buy the explanation of his withdrawal in the slightest. If you have a serious hamstring injury, you demonstrate just a bit of a limp. Or something. But there was nothing. He wanted to leave on his own terms which is understandable but he actually deserved to be properly eliminated for being the worst dancer. Very glad he has gone. To be fair, if I remember correctly, it had been discussed on It Takes Two and there were certainly a few moments after their performance yesterday where he seemed to be struggling with/clutching his hamstring.

Is there a way to get cheaper tickets for this closer to the day? My friend and I are going to London in November and would love to see this. However, the “cheapest” seats that are next to each other on that day are 145£ each which is definitely too much. Do tickets get cheaper as the date gets closer or do they sell them cheaper at the box office, if we ask them nicely? Or is it really just “pay an insane amount of money or miss out” with this show? If there are still a fair amount of seats available, they do seem to engage in dynamic pricing closer to the performance. I’ve also seen them release extra seats for performances, but I haven’t been able to work out if this is done at a set period of time before a performance (ie two weeks, a week etc) or just randomly. Alternatively, if you are able to and willing, they release standing tickets if the show sells out or is close to a sell out.

Cancelled again tonight. Not great when it was already such a short run to start with.

It was very apparent that Shirley Ballas gave someone an 8 because she couldn’t find whatever paddle she wanted to use. When Claudia very wisely double checked with her, Ballas lied and laughed it off. That is how seriously the judges take the marking, which explains a lot. A 7, but she’d registered a 6 when they have to enter their scores so the graphics team can be ready. It’s happened in the past that a judge has accidentally entered a different score to the one they actually wanted to give.

Another standing ovation after I Say No. Lots of extended clapping and cheering, especially for the dads. Scrunchies thrown on stage at the end by a few people. Rory got hoisted up at the end and got a victory lap (hope it wasn’t his last show). A second row Steve, very unusual. Ben played a calmer JD than usual, which was just as well with the audience. And there was a massive queue of fans outside afterwards. Can’t imagine what this weekend will be like! Tonight was Rory’s final show

I doubt he was told he can’t give the ticket to someone, more like he was told he can’t sell it. Of course you can give the tix to someone else. From what I read on Twitter those tickets were for Gary Barlow’s show, for which they’re saying the lead booker must attend.

I was looking through the thread, wanting to book up for September. Can someone please tell me if Miriam-Teak Lee is going to be in it? If so, I’ll not bother and see something else instead! Can’t stand her! Cast change isn’t until October anyway, as far as I’m aware

Just finished watching it and really enjoyed it. Agree about the audience, clapping and cheering at anything but it didn't put me off. I really liked the staging and thought it was one of the best filmed live musicals I've seen. That was a huge cast, there were hundreds of them. The dancing was amazing and hope it will be replicated in London. Realistically I know we won't get a cast or orchestra that size but hope we get the choreography. That theatre and stage was massive, must have been 100 seats wide. Does anyone know what theatre it was filmed in as the titles at the end came up so quickly I dodnt catch the name of it. I believe it was filmed at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood

Because my payment crashed rather than just taking ages to process, I had to wait for the basket to expire and unfortunately wasn’t quick enough to grab the seats back, so I’ve had to book 3rd preview rather than 1st and in a less preferred block. Oh well, at least I’ve got tickets.

It crashed whilst trying to pay, now I can’t buy the tickets because it says it’s still processing the crashed payment.

See I think an outsider wouldn’t even think this. We only see them as looking mortified because we know what’s gone on. It’s hard to know how much we’re looking for what we expect to see, rather than what we actually see. I still think they’re on about Lauren though, I can’t see / hear her “screeching “ .. I’ve seen a couple of videos that have her in shot at the “costly mistake” part. She laughed quite audibly, most likely in disbelief at that choice of phrase, and I personally don’t think that’s an unjustified reaction.

According to the other palace on Instagram we can expect an announcement at 12pm tomorrow - is this the next thing to replace Heathers in the main house or perhaps a longer run in the studio? I had a Friends of TOP email yesterday to say an announcement for the Studio is coming today, so I’m assuming Millenials will have a run in the Studio, potentially for a good portion of summer.

Does this show report actually exist - has anyone seen it? I also don't see how a show report could be leaked. Someone has been very unprofessional. Here's some advice for budding DSMs based purely on my experiences so far in my career Each of my show reports goes to the director/AD, the producers and where necessary - and only if notes are given - to LX and SND. Even then, I am very careful what I write and small things I just have a word. It is a bond of trust with the SM team and cast, never write anything you wouldn't say to the person in the flesh. Lots of DSM's log absolutely everything and producers/directors I work with absolutely hate that because they have to waste time reading through nonsense to get to anything actionable. Never, ever criticise performances directly in a show report. It becomes an official document and would be available under a GDPR request in the case of tribunal, for instance. Stick to the facts. I use character names to avoid personalising a note, but if giving a note which requires an actor's name use correct pronouns and a title. Cite specifics with no conjecture or other colour. Bad example: "John Smith was late again with his entrance for his big song, was chatting in wings" Good example: "Mr. Smith entered late at top of Act I, Scene II (Pg. 14 - "I Want Song"). This was the third occurrence of this specific issue. Company Manager will discuss this with Mr. Smith before the next performance and offer any assistance in preventing this from happening in future". From what I’ve seen on Twitter (e.g. Liam Doyle’s tweet) it wasn’t leaked as such, but was accidentally sent to the cast (and I’m guessing did include personal critiques).

The WOS review says “When Elle is on the verge of quitting Harvard, it's not love that holds her there, it's a woman who steps forward and tells her she is great.” as an example of something that Lucy Moss has changed to make the show better. I haven’t seen this production but if they’re talking about what happens post-“Legally Blonde”, it’s always been the case that a woman encourages her to stay.

I saw an article online discussing the fact that Tom Hier had appeared on the BBC1 programme which has Amanda Holden as a judge. I’ve forgotten the name of the programme but it’s the one where the judges have to work out if the contestant is a genuine singer. Obviously AH didn’t recognise him! I Can See Your Voice. Tom’s episode was one of the few episodes where I could immediately pick someone as being a good singer because I recognised him from Bare at The Vaults.

Is anyone able to make them all? I think I only know 1 or 2. From left to right when they’re stood in a line during the performance: Glain Rhys, Siwan Henderson, Rhidian Marc, Tom Hier, Luke McCall, Mared Williams, Jade Davies, Sophie Evans, Steffan Hughes, and Samantha Thomas.

`does anyone know if that is the cast that will be performing from now on? From what I’ve seen on social media, Bayley Hart is replacing Mary Jean Caldwell. I don’t know about anyone else.

Any word of if they're doing a cast recording for this? Or if we'll get a cast recording from the concert? At least one cast member has said that a cast recording is happening.

Frustrating from me that this is the only one of the three concerts I want to see, and the only one I am completely unable to attend.
