Yeah Danielle Fiamanya was on for Elsa last night! Saw her in The Colour Purple at Curve, so would really like to see her Elsa at some point!
Saw this clip of her curtain call from last night on Twitter just now!

Also regarding the comment above about swings, I can count on just one hand the amount of times over the many years I've been going to Curve where a show has been cancelled because of not having enough cover. On the rare instance of a cast issue they haved pulled something out the bag 9 times out of 10 so it can still go ahead. If I remember correctly, the ran most of their run of Legally Blonde without a Serena, due her needing to pull out of the production just after opening. She was never replaced, they just shared the role out across the other 2 main Delta Nu girls. They are usually pretty good at making sure the show goes ahead if they can!

'Snap, Click' which that lyric is actually from, was one of the few sequences I thought worked ok, and I actually didn't mind the cringe lyrics for them haha! But why were all the journalists dressed like Dick Tracy? Thats very true... haha, wait, our press don't look like that?

Very excited if its being preserved! As had a friend that didn't get the chance to come down and see Sutton, so at least this gives a hope of them seeing her performance!

I actually quite like the full lyric to number 6. It's sung by the paparazzi: Better than a guinness, better than a w@ank, gotta take our pictures, money in the bank. It sums up sleazy paps quite nicely. 'Snap, Click' which that lyric is actually from, was one of the few sequences I thought worked ok, and I actually didn't mind the cringe lyrics for them haha!

I've seen this tweet today, which has a photo of Courtney in the yellow ball gown... Have production shots been released that I've missed??

Signs and telling people actually would make a difference. A lot of the audience where I work don't even realise that we want/expect them to keep their mask on at all times. Many think it's restaurant rules - aka, you can take the mask off when you sit down. The best audience I’ve seen so far for mask wearing was actually at Heathers, which surprised me considering the bad rep they get with the “corn nuts.” FOH was asking everybody on the way in to keep their face coverings on. Vast majority did. See thats so surprising, as so far the Haymarket/Heathers has been the worst we've visited regarding masks/Covid precautions. Bar a very weak announcement at the end of the interval about mask, i saw no signs, no attempts from the FOH staff to maintain it, worst night we've had back. Where I didn't feel it being enforced at the Barbican, at least once in the theatre, FOH were moving up and down asking people if they could to wear mask, so I suppose when you go and the team they have on that day I suppose.

Has anyone tried day seating for this yet? If so, what was the experience like? I know Rush tickets are available but the seats offered aren’t very inspiring. We tried to get tickets in person last Friday, but the box office was closed, directing you to buy online, so not sure about day seats!!

Still trying to decide whether to punt and see this at Bristol when it opens, or hold out for more dates to be announced elsewhere. As would have seen the original opening at Curve, but we all know what happened there, so holding out for it coming into town also *fingers crossed* I don't have anything to compare to regarding the original production, so really looking forward to seeing this on stage, everything we've seen so far does look promising!

On reflection, do we think that Megan Mullally would’ve been able to do the level of tap that Sutton seems to be doing? I just can’t picture her in the role. I think she'd have been a really wonderful Reno, but I imagine the big dance numbers would have differed a little... I always imagined that Megans 'Reno' would be similar to how Patti played it, which either way I would have been going to see it! Getting Sutton was just an added bonus, due to the change in circumstance!

Managed to get some through the pre-sale, panicked when I saw 4 together on the Balcony, so secured them!
Now really excited for this, and really happy how well it has been received!

As soon as I saw a Megasix go online, I wanted to see if they had updated the costumes to be in line with the Broadway production, so glad to hear that any changes from it going across the pond are now being implemented in all of the productions!

I'm so gutted about this, we had tickets to see it the week after they closed theatres, so we were so close but not quite! Keeping fingers crossed that it'll come back, in some capacity!

I would love this to have 'names' for the older characters such as Higgins, Pickering, Doolittle, Mrs Higgins and Mrs Pearce but to give a couple of unknowns a chance as Eliza and Freddy. So many young performers who are wondering whether they'll have a profession to enter right now and it would be amazing to offer that chance out there for them I'm all for casting like this! Give some new names a try and put some recognisable names in the smaller support roles!

On the recommendation of this thread we watched 'Every Little Step' last night, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Such an amazing insight into the very complicated and long process to cast the revival! Well worth a watch!

Wonder if the Lord will bless us with a cast recording before it opens? If it’s online only, he can still jiggle it around if need be to match up when the show is locked. Oh it's totally what we need to lift the lockdown spirits - I'd love that! Sadly though I reckon he's forever stung by the Love Never Dies CD hoo-ha and won't release full CD until after opening.... To be honest I more then happy to wait for the cast recording to be done once the show is locked down and there happy with it! I hate nothing more then an inaccurate or incomplete cast recording!

You know, i'm hoping that this does get a nod at the Oliviers. I would assume that the original nominations are still valid, if so it was nominated for 3 awards!

I guess I’m not being entirely fair - there have been many movie-to-stage adaptations that didn’t need the same cast and whilst less adapted, some TV shows have moved to stage too: who on earth would have thought Only Fools and Horses would have lasted so long on the west end? Though the less said about Corrie: The Musical the better. I suppose there’s just this assumption Smash as its own property wouldn’t work without the original cast, whereas the cast alone couldn’t make the TV show a success anyway. It was the songs that are remembered, alongside the idea - because the plot got lost more than once too. So it could work, but I’d argue it’s an uphill battle trying to get a flop TV show a broadway audience. So maybe it’s better off not casting the TV cast and give it a chance to work as its own thing - as if it’s just a nostalgic trip down memory lane, it’s shelf life will be fairly limited. I would almost be more interested to see a fresh take/eyes on this story, and see what new life that could be brought into it, see if any of the characters would be played differently if they were taken down a slightly different path I know I'll mainly be there to hear the music, and as much as I'd love to see some of the original cast come back, if I wanted that, I can easily just pop in my DVDs for that! I always think that the premise of the show was strong, it just got lost a bit along the way, with changing minds at the top, so if they really focus down on the story that they wanted to tell, and how they want to tell that on stage, I hope that it could bring something interesting to the table.

I completely agree with you on this one! I saw the show during its Sheffield run, and we said that the close of Act 1 was one of the weakest parts of the show, just didn't have the impact that it should have! So when it was transferring I was hoping that that some changes would be made to improve it, but sadly not! How would they manage to get the actor into full glam drag for a big reveal though in that short time? That's why it's only a projection/video, because the logistics don't work out. Though i suppose you could then say well then it should be written in a way that he's off stage for 10 minutes or something then. I was thinking more then anything that the song is poor, it conveys the right meaning for the moment, but musically its not the best. The projection wasn't there at Sheffield, so the addition to that for the London run was very welcome. Its just such a big moment for Jamie and for the story they are telling, and for me I think it slightly misses the mark. To be honest in the right hands, drag make up can be done quickly, but then it is a lot of effort for a finale moment, then the interval, so there has got to be some compromises!

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is not a very good show, mainly due to the spectacularly unmemorable songs I have only seen Jamie once, but used to listen obsessively to most of the cast recording, so I do like the songs. Where it really lets itself down is the end of the first half, I was expecting so much more and I went into the interview thinking the show was cheap. The second half rescued it for me, but first half is definitely weak. I completely agree with you on this one! I saw the show during its Sheffield run, and we said that the close of Act 1 was one of the weakest parts of the show, just didn't have the impact that it should have!
