Me, too! I think the posters look really appealing and quite adorable, and really give more of a sense of the themes/ story.

It'd be a TRAVESTY if we didn't see this production again. Unquestionably my no.1 show of last year. So well deserved tonight.

I'm going tomorrow too. Very excited to get dressed up and watch the performances. Should be a fun evening at the very least.

No drama but after I saw Waitress on Saturday (matinee) we dropped by the stage door and the queue was already snaking down the side of the building and then round a corner and into a little alleyway. What a joke. I feel bad for the actors on their dinnerbreak having the wade past so many people! We didn't stay.
I swear stage door never used to be so busy for shows when I was a teen... maybe it'll quiet down in time?

Laura Michelle Kelly sang All That Matters at her concert tonight and it was such a goosebumps inducing moment. She's such a force! 💕 Admittedly when I saw the show on Broadway I didn't really like it (Hey, you can't like everything, right?), but that song really stood out as something special...

Yep, I saw it last night actually. Thought it was very fun - a clever meta musical for musical theatre fanatics. Some great laugh out loud moments and a brilliant cast. I'd recommend it to any musical theatre fan (especially those on this board 😉ðŸŽðŸ‘€).

David Hunter has been great in everything I've seen him in and was kind of who I'd dreamcast when the transfer was announced, and so I'm super excited to see this asap!
Loving reading everyone's thoughts so far...

He'll definitely be missed. He was always my favourite pro, and I loved his choreography. Very interested to see how the next season shapes up now...

They've definitely muffled the audience reaction at least... but it is still audible in the background.

Yeah, I was very disappointed that they didn't rerecord all the vocals for release on the album (I think some recordings are different from the live version, e.g. La Vie Boheme, but certainly not all).. some bits are really enjoyable but others are quite flat. Such a shame as I really believe some cast members could've done a much better job if given a proper chance.

I also caught up on this tonight and ... I kind of loved it! Not all of it, there were a few odd casting choices, strange lyric rewrites, and the audience was A LOT, but overall I had a great time with it! I'd forgotten how much I used to worship this show (whilst watching it tonight I realised that I still know every line and lyric. I guess all Musical Theatre kids had a Moment with this show at some point or another.) Casting high points for me were, as I expected Jordan Fisher, Vanessa Hudgens, and Brandon Victor Dixon. I'm a longtime fan of Fisher and he really pulled off a completely different yet totally believable Mark (oh, and the nose ring? Exceptional). After this and Grease Live (not to mention Hamilton on Broadway etc.) I hope it's not long before we see him in another musical. Benny in the In The Heights movie, anyone? Vanessa Hudgens was also great in Grease Live and in this she was hilarious. As someone who grew up on the High School Musical films (lame to say, but honestly, HSM2 was 11 year old me's whole life ) , I'm excited to see her musical theatre rep keep on growing. Brandon Victor Dixon TOTALLY got me during the I'll Cover You reprise. I FELT it! It's a real shame that they had to air so much of the dress run though, because it really felt like it lacked energy throughout. When it amped up, the numbers were electric (Rent, La Vie Boheme, Halloween, What You own) and I think that if it'd have all been live the whole thing would've buzzed from start to finish. But accidents happen, I suppose, and they covered Brennin Hunt's (I'd not heard of him before this - great voice!) broken foot well at the end. After seeing so many neutral to bad reviews, I was going in preparing for the worst, so I'm extremely happy that I enjoyed it as much as I did in the end!

Sorry to revive this with non-LMDC tour related news, but as of yesterday Darren Criss is now an Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG Award and Critics Choice Award winner for his role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace.
The show is excellent and will be coming to UK Netflix in Feb if you missed it and are curious. I'll certainly be rewatching!

Can't wait for a legal way to watch this over here. I for one am really glad that Jordan Fisher seems to be getting a lot of praise on social media... I really love him as a performer and he was great in a supporting role in Grease Live. I'm also a fan of Vanessa Hudgens, of course, and I'm hearing good things about her too.
I've also just seen that there'll be an album out too, which is nice to know.

My thought exactly! ^
I hope so, I was kind of envisioning this being my new go-to pick me up show, plus in a strange way I actually love the dayseating experience 😂.

I don't see how belting an (incredible and really hard) modern song like Shallow can prove that she will be able to sing a strong soprano vocal score like Maria's, but let's wait and see... She's posted loads and loads of musical theatre covers on Youtube and has played the role of Maria in a school production in the past too I believe. Here's her Youtube account if you want to check out more of her voice. www.youtube.com/channel/UC5CpvBm5CdvMzLixwPjex6w/videos

I saw this before Xmas and actually really enjoyed it. Caroline was such a fascinating central character, and Sharon D Clarke was brilliant in the role, as was Abiona Omonua as Emmie. I thought the song I Hate The Bus was performed so touchingly. The story fascinated me it that it felt both intimate and personal, yet monolithic as an indicator of American modern history.
I also loves the design, and felt like it really oozed a sense of place and time. Not sure I'd see it again, but I'd say it was one of the better things I saw last year, by a long shot!

Even the "complete" version of Shallow just sounds like half a song to me tbh. I've always thought Always Remember Us This Way was the best song in the film, by far. Even sitting in the cinema and hearing it for the first time I instantly knew it'd be my fave.

Yes, I was there tonight too! Had an absolutely fabulous night. I've been a Lea fan since Spring Awakening and a Darren fan since A Very Potter Musical, so this felt like a long time coming!
The set list was great, a really good mix for fans of all their different ventures (Glee, their solo stuff, musical theatre) and they were an adorable pair to watch on stage. We were dead centre in row P of the stalls so the view was great. I deffo teared up once or twice, and of course I bought the flimsy tour t-shirt too!! 💕😂
Highlights for me were:
Duets: Falling Slowly, Shallow, Don't You Want Me Baby
Lea: Don't Rain on my Parade, Edge of Glory - she sounded just effortlessly beautiful and I'm SUCH a fan.
Darren: Cough Syrup, Teenage Dream, oh and he did a song from an earlier EP which I can't remember the name of, but will definitely be going back to listen to - it's amazing to think he's now an Emmy Winner and Golden Globe nominee for the brilliant ACS: Versace as well as a fab musician!
They're a very talented pair and I loved the chatter with each other / the audience, which I have found to be quite cringe with other artists in the past.
I'll stop fangirling now, but to cut a long story short the concert was pretty special and didn't disappoint. So glad I booked.... Fingers crossed they come back at some point!

I'm super excited about David Hunter - He's been on my dream casting list forever.
I love this show and cast is sounding pretty promising so far, so I'm feeling pretty positive about this production now - or at least my personal enjoyment of it!
