the thought of having a snake wrapped round me makes me feel sick. So long as you remember to grasp the tail and behind the head, you will save yourself. I'm slightly concerned about it slithering down the M11 It'd be dead anyway before it got through the contraflow at junction 12. Apparently a python has been seen on the hard shoulder of the M11 trying to swallow a Nissan Micra........

Do any of the main ticket sites offer better deals than other for this show please. Or Theatremonkey.com? TodayTix or dayseating probably isn't an option for me. Most probably looking at a couple of midprice tickets for a Thursday matinee if that helps. Thanks peeps!

I stung my hand on a nettle in the garden whilst picking up a frozen chicken foot I had dropped... (It was an unremarkable start to that fateful Tuesday up in North Wales.....)It was then that I noticed the snail. It's shell was glowing as if a nuclear reaction was taking place within... Continue... The nettle sting seemed unusually powerful, 3, 4, even 5 times more painful than usual....

the bath plug has apparently shrunk and you now have to race to bathe before all the water disappears Travellers tip is to use a Ping-Pong ball. Not if you're travelling in Bangkok!

I was delighted that the lady behind me at Little Shop of Horrors at Storyhouse had decided to bring her approximately 7 year old with her last night. Constant seat banging and asking what was going on and no, don't give him a bag of crisps to keep him quiet especially during 'Somewhere that's Green'

Have heard of parcel thrown over a fence directly into garden pond before now. I'm guessing it was a French delivery driver, very adept at Petanque!

Have GoT to watch but brother in law hurt knee moving sheep so have been trying to do aunty duties. Turns out it is possible to flip a pancake whilst holding a baby but can't master washing up whilst holding said screaming baby. Toddler only interested in feeding pancakes to family of plastic ducks. Elder two trying to re enact school of rock. And it's still only Tuesday. Is your brother-in-law Welsh by any chance. We often use the expression - 'just moving the sheep, your honour'

In May 2020, Cunard is getting in on the act with it's 7 night London Theatre at Sea cruise on-board Queen Mary 2. That's an 'official' one, in association with SOLT and the Olivier Awards. And what about all those cold Yorkshire winters you've spent hibernating at the back of a cave, BurlyBeaR ? Manchester has really changed you! 🙂 I’m all loft apartment, cappuccino and track lighting these days babe. Yorkshire? Where’s that? Somewhere around 1966................

At least we now know who was in the freezer. How could they have done that to someone as lovely as Gina McKee? They really are ruthless! I didn't notice at the time, but I've had it pointed out to me this morning that last night's episode was directed by Susan (now Sue) Tully. Grange Hill, Susan Tully???

Hacking was something teenage boys used to do in their bedrooms, and now it's a fully paid-up part of The Establishment! That's not what we called it around here........

Saw this last night at Theatr Clwyd. Superb production, great performances from all of the cast. Excellent development of the leads throughout the first act in particular. Simple set. Some use of the N-word which drew a few sharp intakes of breath from our audience. Completely full house. Well worth seeing.

I remember going to the shoe man when I was a kid, his shop looked amazing but yes sadly all gone for years now The wonderful leathery smell... Not unlike the establishment I visit on the 1st and 3rd Thurdays of every month.......although your £25 sounds a bit cheap.....

Frankly she could have a chocolate eclair stuffed in her ear and you wouldn't notice If she had a strawberry stuffed in her ear, the doctor could give her some cream for it. I'll get me coat. Add a bit of custard and she'd be a trifle deaf...........

I have an old hunting horn. I think it's time I learnt to play it. I get up at around 05:00 every morning. Hmmm... (I think the secret is to produce one long flatulent blast every morning, just enough to get a "What was that‽" reaction but not enough to provide an answer to that question.) I'm on my way. If nothing else, 30 years of brass band playing has taught me how to piss the neighbours off.

ETA: Was quite pleased that the title of this thread wasn't to do with the extra leg BurlyBeaR had surgically added last weekend after a particularly heavy night out... Err....that wasn't an extra leg........

Spend some of the weekend pondering how today's late teens / early 20s date. Back in my day (after chaperones, during what is now being cleaned up in #metoo) I remember we sort of nervously asked a lady to the cinema or a drink or something - and actually held a conversation. If it was a really good date, the stammering from both would become proper chat. So, over the weekend, the weather was good, the young couples were out... walking side by side staring at their phones. Do they now text each other throughout? Curious. I mean I can't speak directly for either demographic, but being closer to ones in their 20s, a mix of yes 'app dating' and the same as y'all did...as much as App dating is very much a thing, and yes we all communicate by text a lot more....generally most successful relationships I know are still of the 'friend of a friend asked me out/met at a party' and/or the tried and tested 'we were both drunk at a...' obviously still endures.... Yes we all are centred on our phones, but we're also fully capable of putting them down to have a conversation (or you know other stuff) ...like have a game of Ker-Plunk?
