Which one are you ruby - Statler or Waldorf? Not sure - could be either! Funnily enough, I bought a furry handbag on the way here and was joking about having a dead Muppet in my bag.

In the interval. This is the best bit, as I've hated the last hour and fifteen minutes.

Feeling a little underwhelmed, but I know as soon as it starts I'll get swept up again. I always try to be positive, as when they announced the line up a few years ago, I instantly dismissed Danny Mac as an arrogant fool who would be awful to watch, but he turned out to be one of my favourite contestants ever.

Not that anyone probably wanted a kitchen update, but we're now 99.9% sure we've been scammed. Going to pursue the deposit return through the small claims court next week if we still haven't heard anything. Trying not to mope too much about the loss of my dream shiny red and black kitchen as I realise it's entirely a first world problem and we do still have a functional if not pretty kitchen.

We were hoping that work would start on our kitchen today, but the company we've been dealing with have made promises and so far failed to deliver. I hadn't got any shopping in anticipation of this, so had to have a tin of rice pudding for tea. Will have to have some chips at the pub quiz I think. Sympathy, sympathy. Kitchen fitters use completely different diaries to everyone else. I think they buy them when they visit outer space which seems to be where they are when you try to phone them. You're right, they must use different diaries and also emails in which Monday 5 August doesn't mean the same as it does on Earth.

Thanks very much all! I forgot to mention that my parents live in France, so a French style bistro wouldn't be their first choice! ☺️ Yalla, Yalla looks great though so I think we'll give it a go.

Resurrecting this thread to ask if anyone has any particular recommendations in Chinatown? Going to Les Mis in Sep and one of our party has walking difficulties so don't want to be too far away. Do you want Chinese food? Or just anywhere near there? Yes,we all like Chinese but happy with anything really.

Wednesday - Malory Towers at the Passenger Shed, Bristol How was it? We're in the interval and it's jolly good! I adored school stories as a child (still do in fact). It's very clever and fun.

The conductor we saw numerous times at 42nd Street was always very animated as he rose gracefully on his podium and then descended...always had a look over his shoulder with a knowing grin..great fun! When we sat in the front row, he would always smile and say good evening to everyone

Anyone know if Meerkat Movies can be used for "event cinema" like 42nd Street ? May vary from cinema to cinema but I have asked at Vue and Cineworld and been told event cinema is not included in the Meerkat Movies offer.

Just back from this. It was absolutely brilliant. I didn't know much about the show beforehand (which I prefer) but I loved it. Fantastic use of space, the cast were superb and the comedy was done really well. Add in a delicious dinner and a scenic tour of Newbury (we got a little lost!) and a good time was had by all!

Red Shoes and Mamma Mia at Bristol Hippodrome. Will be booking Hairspray, Singing in the Rain and Mary Poppins at some point too - probably after my 40th as I've told everyone who's asked me about presents that theatre tokens would be great!
