Rear Stalls seats down to £57.50 with dynamic pricing for today's matinee. Wouldn't be surprised if they drop again between now and showtime (or the seats further forward get discounted). This has happened before and its definitely looks like booking late for the Thursday matinee is the way to go if you want a good view for a reasonable price.

Ooh this is good to see. Lots down to £75 as well! If only I‘d known sooner. Does this ever happen on Saturdays? Fingers crossed 🤞 I doubt it will happen on a Saturday, but always worth checking. Dynamic pricing does strange things.

Realised this morning that I was free this afternoon, so I checked for tickets and found a seat on the extreme end of the front row of the stalls - A12 - for £37.50. Not the greatest view but fair for the price; some terrific performances among the current cast, Gavin Spokes is clearly having a whale of a time playing King George, and it's in excellent shape. My third time seeing the show, but the first time since the original London cast left; I enjoyed everything about it except the lady sitting behind me who wouldn't stop talking to her daughter, and who was impervious to glares from people around her (not just me) who wanted her to SHUT UP. When I rule the universe, front-of-house staff will be equipped with tasers.

Saw the show yesterday matinee. Nuno Queimado was on as Hamilton and he was ok, better that Karl Queensborough. The rest of the main cast were all on. It was an enjoyable afternoon but the current cast are not great.
Many blocks of empty seats in Stalls and Dress Circle. There must have been at least 200 empty seats if not more. Last minute tickets were being offered at the box office for £37.50.
I think lots of people have opted to stop going to the theatre with the current Covid-19 situation, and I can't blame them

Can anyone confirm if ‘Hamilton’ was cancelled tonight? Sounds like all shows are now off tonight.

The filmed performance of the Original Broadway Cast will be on Disney+ from July, a year earlier than the previously announced cinema release

I’m amazed they’ve brought it forward so early. I wonder if this was at Disney’s request of an idea of Lins. Either way I’m excited to see it!

Nice. I wonder if it will cause a big rise in subscriptions? They have a huge investment to claw back.
With it being available on tv, will the box office at theatres slow down?

Has anyone seen confirmation that this will be available in the UK?

I'm guessing Disney is panicking that they aren't able to keep adding much new content to the service and they may start losing all the people who signed up for the 'first month free' trial - suspect we may see some movies intended for cinemas ending up on there first over the coming months. It would be great if they could add some of their other Broadway shows, I know Newsies is on there but were there recordings of others made?

There's no chance they'll add any of the other Broadway shows. Newsies was the exception as it's not exactly a big hitter compared to Beauty or Lion King.

Aladdin was recorded in the West End and is supposed to be available soon. I would assume this would be on D+ rather than a third party site like Broadway HD.

I suspect Disney will sit on Aladdin until it's finished its run on Broadway and US tour. But we also weren't expecting Hamilton to be released for another year. I'd argue Aladdin is more typical family friendly material for D+, but we'll see. I'll likely hear about it here before at work.

Excellent timing for them - this will hook in a lot of the free trial folk to come back and pay for another subscription. My betting is shortly before July 3rd they'll announce a couple of other relatively big additions due in the autumn, to try to encourage people to subscribe for a year rather than month per month.

Amazing news! It makes sense to release it now because all of Disney’s plans for original content have presumably been paused or pushed back, meaning anything ready will be bumped up etc.
Do we think Disney will censor anything? I know there’s the odd swear word in it that they might not like.

I know there’s the odd swear word in it that they might not like. We watched Three Men and A Baby on D+ over the weekend and that hasn't been censored at all. That was only a few S words though, which are now allowed more in lower rated films than originally. I'm not sure what swears are in Hamilton though.

This looks like basically all the regular B-rolls in one clip. It includes Betsy Struxness (the tall white woman with short blonde hair), who had left the show by the time the show was filmed in whole.
It's not a trailer for the film.

Ah ok, so probably something BroadwayWorld Spain have put together themselves.

Do we think Disney will censor anything? I know there’s the odd swear word in it that they might not like. I did mention a while back that Disney wasn't the first studio I would have associated Hamilton with, and people pointed out that Disney have a variety of brands they release content under. However, DisneyPlus seems to be commited to providing family-friendly content. Lin-Manuel has said, "If we have to mute a word here or there to reach the largest audience possible, I'm OK with that, because your kids already have the original language memorized. I don't think we're depriving anyone of anything if we mute an f-bomb here or there to make our rating."

With this being released by Disney + I'm hoping it's a very classy recording. I really like the recording of Newsies and hope it's of that standard. Very excited!

Cancelled until January 2021 at the earliest.
That goes beyond the current cast's contracts, so who knows what will happen. I feel for all of them.
