Was great in New York, and can see it doing very well here.
That does mean we will be getting another closing announcement before long then.

I saw this on Broadway and enjoyed it, it's very similar to Jersey Boys in terms of how it's presented but I think it will find an audience in London.

Ain’t Too Proud is far superior to Drifter’s Girl.

Personally, I would be sad to see a prime West End theatre saddled with this schlock. I saw it on Broadway and found it embarrassingly formuliac and not many notches above a standard theme-park revue.
They should throw it into the Eventim in Hammersmith for a limited run and tour it rather than waste decent West End real estate.
But I'm sure the hen party crowds will eat it up and whatever theatre they land in will make a killing in bar receipts.

Is Oliver off then or elsewhere?!

Performances starting 31 March 2023.
With Mary Poppins closing in early January, could there be a limited run of something else in between or will the Prince Edward Theatre just be dark for 11 and a half weeks?

Horah! Another juke box musical. But I'm sure it will appeal to the non MT audience, groups and hen parties. They will probably make more money from alcohol sales than ticket sales.

It's not in open-ended to my knowledge. I'd heard 6 months then touring, with something else going into the Prince Edward end of 2023

Previews starting from 27th Feb, with opening at end of March. Will initially be booking until 1st October, with group bookings to 7th January (I'd guess if it is a limited run, that would be a likely closing date).

I just booked my favourite front row stalls seat for 31 March at an excellent price of £45. If there are earlier previews I can't see them being much cheaper.
Ticket already received, printed and filed.(I wish ATG and especially LW Theatres utilised immediate ticket delivery upon booking)

I saw this on Broadway and enjoyed it. It's no Jersey Boys but it's an entertaining night out.
I know people aren't keen on biomusicals but the alternative is theatres dark for months and years on end and we wouldn't want that.

Whenever I see shows like this I think of the terrible tribute acts we used to get in the Canaries where it was either The Temptations or The Drifters - with a smattering of The Supremes or Boney M - with ONE of the original members of the group. The talented people cast in The Drifters Girl and Jersey Boys are, to my ears, far from "terrible tribute acts" and I'm confident Ain't Too Proud will be equally entertaining.

That brings back memories of when I lived and worked in Tenerife. We had The Platters with 1 original platter and Boney M with 1 original member. Mind you this was the 80s way before the tribute acts were 10na penny so everyone loved them.
