Christine Stephen-Daly who people might recall from Casualty, The Bill and Cutting It in 2000's rocked up in today's episode as a bored housewife using the Gigolo services of Jane's son. I thought I recognised her watching it and when I saw name at the end it clicked. Christine is Australian so must have moved back home.
Harold returns on Weds, Joe Mangel and Izzy appear next week I've read.

I know it's daytime viewing and all that, but it would've been much more fun if Clive was actually one of the clients of Jane's hooker son. Missed opportunity for mischief!

I don't know how Clive fits in with Jane's son's clientelle but it would have been funny. But Jane is one of my all time favourite Neighours characters so to do that to her would have been nasty. I think Jane's son only does female clients but he could be theoretically be gay as his sister is.

I think Jane's son only does female clients but he could be theoretically be gay as his sister is. Clive and Sheila were notoriously adventurous in the bedroom, much to her grandkids' horror, so Clive would be well up for a bit of group action or bringing in an escort to spice things up. Byron would do anything for cash it seems, and the fact that Jane thinks he's angelic means she's set for major disappointment on all fronts.

I cannot recall Clive and Sheila being adventurous in the bedroom but Sheila would have been up for fun in her youth. Clive used to run a kissogram agency or worked for one way back when he was first in Neighbours so that might tie in somehow. Clive could be up for fun but I'd assume Jane would be horrified at a threesome and they have done that story a couple of times in last year alone.
The Kennedy's used to have their "dressing up box" which came out occasionally and provided a lot of humour down the years.

Is it the angle she has been photographed or do Kylie's eyes look different?

Finale day! Genuinely sad. My mum's sad too, she's watched since the first episode. I can't wait to see Scott and Charlene!

A very sad day for all Neighbours fans. I’ve been watching for about the last 20 years and it’s just been getting better all the time. Such a shame it’s finishing. I’ve been following them on Twitter where they have shared behind the scenes videos and chats with the old and current cast. I’m hoping for some kind of revival in the not too distant future.

It's been great to see some of the old faces return. I think it'll do very for Channel 5 tonight.

I can’t believe the final day is here! The episodes over the last couple of weeks have been great so at least it’s going out on a high. Lovely to see some of the older characters returning and slipping in well with the existing characters/ storylines.
Enjoy the finale tonight anyone watching 😊

To think the whole 32 year arc of Neighbours was the love story Jane & Mike.

Absolutely perfect. Me and Mum cried, it was so well written. All the cameos! Was Kylie being paid by the word, I think she only said "Harold!".

Best ending to a soap ever. Guy Pearce stole the show for me. Proper Hollywood star. No phoning it in from him. I miss it already.

Natalie Imbruglia and Holly Vallance's cameos were quite good considering their characters never met in the show. I think it was filmed in Holland Park as both of them live in London.

I don’t think I’ve watched it properly since the late 90s, but I’ve really enjoyed seeing the past few weeks on catch-up. Forget Scott and Charlene, Jane and Mike reuniting was lovely. Nice way of wrapping the series up.

It was such a good decision to make the finale about Mike and Jane's story, and full props to Guy Pearce for not forgetting where he came from and delivering some of the best work of his career, Annie Jones was magnificent too.

I watched the first episode, which I think was shown during half-term, and I watched the last.
Although not everything on the internet is true, I've just read that the final episode broadcast in Australia was 90 minutes long. That probably explains why I didn't always follow what was going on...or perhaps it's because I haven't watched for at least 25 years.
My favourite line ever? "Grow a brain, Murphy." I don't know why it's stuck with me, but stuck it has, from the very early days.

From what I could work out the channel it aired on in Australia cut it back to four episodes a week so Channel 5 ended up ahead of them. So to catch up the Australians have had four 90 minute episodes this week. These have been shown here as the last ten regular episodes plus a one-hour special.

That was very well done. I've not watched it in many years, but I enjoyed spotting lots of the old favourites. Yes it was cheesy in parts ("Especially for You"?) but it worked particularly with Susan's final monologue.

Wow that was emotional. :-( Absolutely perfect - the concept, direction, writing and performances. Susan's monologue at the end ENDED ME. I never watched it when Guy Pearce was on (maybe slightly before my time) but he put everything into his storyline- huge respect. Don't know what I'm going to do now! Excited to see the Neighbours : The Farewell Tour next year.

It was nice to see Jesse Spencer make a cameo plus Margot Robbie. The former has been in the US for almost 20 years starring in House and Chicago Fire.

I loved it. I've not watched in years until this week, so I can't claim to fully understand all of the dynamics, but it was a great way to introduce happy nostalgia without disrespecting the current cast and audience. I may have let out a little squeal when Jane put her glasses on. And fair play to Guy. He really didn't need to come back, or take the time to film a proper story line, but he fully invested in it. Scott and Charlene was the bigger story back in the day, but the audience wouldn't thank them if they tried to create drama in their relationship, even if schedules allowed for it. There was bonus fun as we got to spot the edits to allow the pretence that actors were all on set at the same time.

Guy Pearce's sister has Down's Syndrome, so one of the reasons he was willing to do more than a cameo was a chance to work with actress Henrietta Graham as Mike's daughter, showing her having a successful career at Lassiters. There were lots of clever little references and moments in the last few episodes that would have gone over most people's heads.

I agree with many people's comments above. The absolute star of the finale for me was Guy Pearce. As others have said, he's come a long way since he started in Neighbours but he fitted seamlessly back in, didn't think he was above it all. Class is timeless. The lamp scene was hilarious and just a typical fluffy Neighbours touch. Lots of happy endings but lovely that the main one everyone is talking about (Jane and Mike) is an older couple. I'll have to watch it again to catch all the references and spot everyone in the wedding video messages. I'm so pleased for them all that it finished on such a high that has gone down so well with the fans.
My only small niggle was actually Jason and Kylie. I totally appreciate they are the most famous to be linked with Neighbours but compared to others, it seemed like a cameo totally separate to the episode. I felt like I was watching Jason and Kylie, not Scott and Charlene.
