Given that it’s the evening only is it a good assumption that it’s a scheduled show

Amy Webb is on as Elphaba tonight (15th June, 2023). Well then good show to Kate and/or Nicola for tomorrow or the weekend then. Alexia and Lucy were both given a show off this week (Lucy on Wednesday eve and Alexia Thursday eve) which I heard was due to west end live this weekend. Not something they’ve ever done before but probably good to give the extra time off given they had sound check for west end live during the week and west end live yesterday morning.

I believe it is the norm that both Elphaba and Glinda each get a show off during the week of West End Live!

Amy Webb is on as Elphaba for both shows today (21st June, 2023).
Alexia is really having a bad run of it lately. Wishing her the best.

I was in this afternoon, the show overall is in good shape. Really really loved Lucy as Glinda, she brought a whole new energy to the role and has a fantastic vocal range. Shes not the funniest Glinda ever but she definitely brings the bubbly popular girl energy.
Actually really enjoyed Amy Webb, she plays a much softer and quieter Elphaba than I'd seen recently and made some very nice acting choices.Vocally she was on top form, i'd only ever heard bootlegs of her and wasnt really a fan but she sounds totally different in the venue. I would never have known that she wasnt feeling 100%

I've had the pleasure of watching this a couple of times over the past few weeks. The first time I ever saw it was back in 2010. I only have vague memories of that but do remember thinking it was only so-so... though at the time I hadn't actually seen The Wizard of Oz, which probably didn't help! Anyway, finally got round to booking it again to see if my opinion had changed and was really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I was so impressed with Alexia and Lucy first time round that I booked it a second time to see them again. Lucy has the most wonderful, bright voice - incredible technique and pitch perfect for every note. It contrasts wonderfully with Alexia's darker, more soulful voice. I expected Defying Gravity to be the highlight but, as incredible as that sequence is, it's For Good and (especially) No Good Deed that'll stay with me. That final note Alexia hits is something else, a real showstopper. Won't be waiting another 13 years to see this again, that's for sure!

Went to Wicked last night (Friday) for the (lost count)th time.
Second time seeing Lucy and Alexia (4th for Alexia including 2009) and they are both perfect.
Lucy is note perfect. Her over all portrayal, voice aside, didn't sit right with me the first time I saw her in April, but last night I loved her. Her chemistry with Alexia is possibly the most natural combination I have seen on that stage in years. She is the first Glinda in years that I have seen that actually finished the final notes of NOMTW and Thank Goodness without cutting them off before the music.
Alexia. Is she actually a witch, how has she not aged? How is she 40? Her Elphaba is stunning. Act 1 the perfect combination of awkward yet sassy during Shiz. I spent most of What Is This Feeling? in hysterics with her choices. By the time Defying Gravity rolled round, you could see Elphaba slowly building up her confidence throughout the first part of the song, building up to one of the strongest and sassiest climaxes of that song I have ever witnessed. She truly is embodying Elphaba during this run. No Good Deed, you can really feel her emotions. Fully believed that she was having a complete breakdown.
Ryan Reid had a little accident and tripped running up the stairs during Thank Goodness, and I hate to say this was the only time I really noticed him. I was completely zoning out or focusing on other parts happening on stage during his scenes. Until As Long As Your Mine when I watched him miss nearly every note.
The rest of the cast were on top form. Sophie Louise Dann really is the stand out outside the main trio. Also love that they have gone back to the original Act 1 Emerald City Morrible costume rather than just having the green version of the red Shiz dress.
Had a great night overall, and will hopefully catch this cast again before cast change. Thankfully I have seen that Ryan has holidays during my next confirmed London trip, so might squeeze it in then.

Alexia. Is she actually a witch, how has she not aged? How is she 40? When I saw her photo in the programme (bearing in mind I didn't know she'd been in the show before) I genuinely thought she was about 21/22. Amazing!

I feel like everything you have said is exactly what I would say! I have exactly the same thoughts and feelings. I like this duo so much. I have now seen them four times. They have got stronger and stronger. The chemistry is magical between them. I like them so much I wrote to the theatre to provide feedback to whomever is responsible for casting. I have never heard No Good Deed sang the way Alexia does and all the love in For Good just makes me wanna cry. It feels like Lucy and Alexia are not just performing in costume but they are living and are the roles.

I read that they were good friends even before they were cast together and that really shines through. I'll definitely have to get another performance booked in at some point. I was front row both times I saw it recently and being so close for No Good Deed has to be up there with one of my favourite theatre moments.

Defying Gravity final Sau Paulo performance from the other week. Audience was given permission to film, according to the comments.
This is how it should be done.

Full scene. Looks like they reprised DG after the speeches. My god she virtually flies down to the stalls seats 🧙♀️
What a fabulous time that audience is having!

This is how it should be done. Was that an actual performance? Was it advertised as a sing-a-long? I thought fans screaming before the end of the song was bad enough, but singing all the way through? No thanks
EDIT - just seen your 2nd post.
They were doing flying like that since Witches of Eastwick, so its not like they couldnt do it here.

It might be an unpopular opinion but I prefer the lift - just the way the cape flows and it feels like a big way to end the first act and gives a visual representation of the defiance Elphaba is showing. I love the Brazil version just personally prefer broadway and west end. Also at point you can see the light bounce of the wires however obviously you probably wouldn’t be able to see it live

Thanks for posting it! I pressed send before I finished the notice board message but I think it makes sense :-)
Ticket is a pdf attachment I can email on to anyone. Don’t want any money for it, just don’t want it to go to waste. I’ve got whiplash so can’t deal with tube and theatre right now :-(

I miss the regular updates on who is going on as Elphaba lol. Me too! haha. I'm keen to give this a return visit to see Alexia and Lucy, but a few months ago it seemed a bit of a lottery who was on. I know nothing is guaranteed but the odds put me off booking.

If I want to see someone in particular usually just book for just before or after someone comes of holiday it works 99% of the time - only didn’t work once 😂😂
